LETTER FROM THE ASSISTANT EDITOR Back to school has always been my favorite time of the year. Shopping for binders, planning my schedule and getting ready for a new semester with different professors is my bread and butter. However, with increased traffic in the Golden Triangle, I realize the back to school season may be more of a burden than a pleasure on many local residents. This issue of Town & Gown is focused on showcasing the positive aspects of this seasonal event, as well as highlight ways to make your backto-school experience, whether a parent, student or resident, more enjoyable. Personally, my favorite edition of this month’s issue is our fashion spread. Our models this month are teachers at different public schools in the Starkville Oktibbeha Consolidated School District. With confidence and pride, Stella, Jasmine and Niki prove that anyone can be a model, both in a fashion spread and in their community. I hope their infectious positivity radiates through the pages and brings a ray of sunshine on our community as school begins. Emma Moffett-Taylor - Assistant Editor, Town & Gown Magazine
