BOOK CLUB SELECTIONS The Senior Book Group meets every month on the second

Tuesday of the month at 10:30 am in the Senior Center.

It is a drop-in group so no membership or previous attendance is required.

WRITING GROUP IS BACK! Writing Club Members can enjoy a quiet place with no interruptions where they can write their memoirs, family histories and do other creative writing. The group also provides an opportunity for members to meet fellow writers and get help with writing. Monday Funday – Senior Lunch Program

This lunch program is provided in partnership with Contra Costa County and has a suggested donation of $3.00 for those 60 and up. Menus are available online at www.danville.ca.gov/ seniors. Lunch is served at noon each Monday. Participants will be required to fill out a NAPIS intake form each year. Come for lunch, stay for the movie at 1:00pm!

VOLUNTEER with AARP TAX-AIDE for 2023 TAX SEASON

AARP Tax-Aide is looking for volunteers to become members of a team providing free tax preparation for individuals of all ages residing in Contra Costa County. Tax-Aide volunteer positions include Tax Counselors who are trained by Tax-Aide and certified by IRS, and Client Facilitators, who schedule appointments and assist clients at tax sites. Orientation is in November 2022, classes for tax counselors start in January 2023. Service is from February through April 15, 2023. A MATTER OF BALANCE Age 65+| Jim Donnelly In partnership with Meals on Wheels Diablo, a Matter of Balance (MOB) is an evidence-based fall prevention program that focuses on overcoming the fear of falling and increasing physical activity through learning assertive behaviors, making the home safer, and following an exercise program designed to improve balance. The course includes 8 two-hour sessions taught by two trained coaches and covers many activities seniors face at home and in the community. Must preregister and attend all classes. QIGONG-SHIBASHI FOR SENIORS Age 50Y & Up | Jim Donnelly Qigong (Chi Kung) is an ancient Chinese mild exercise system practiced for health maintenance, healing and increasing vitality. Qigong is an integration of physical postures, breathing techniques, and focused intentions which can reduce stress, build stamina, increase vitality, and enhance the immune system.
