K-9 Unit

The Parker Police Department’s K-9 Unit enhances the public safety of Parker residents. Our K-9 team deters criminal activity, assists in locating illegal drugs and assists with the location of missing persons. In 2022, the Parker Police Department’s K-9 Unit positively detected narcotics resulting in 42 arrests for Possession of Controlled Substances and the seizure of four firearms. The K-9 teams also assisted with the search for articles of evidence four times.

Our K-9 teams trained for an average of 300 hours per team in 2022.

Officer Graham and K-9 Kato

A neighboring agency called for Officer Graham and K-9 Kato to perform a narcotics sniff of a stolen vehicle driving on Parker Rd. K-9 Kato alerted to the odor of narcotics, and a vehicle search was conducted. The search turned up 2 gallons of liquid methamphetamine being trafficked from Mexico. A gallon of liquid methamphetamine can produce 6-8 pounds of methamphetamine.

Officer Graham joined the Parker Police Department in 2006 and partnered with K-9 Kato in 2017.
