Mayor’s Message

Expressions of Interest Victoria Park Sustainability Fair The Town is working with local community groups to organise a sustainability-focused event on Saturday, 22 October 2016 from 1pm to 5pm at John MacMillan Park to coincide with the national Garage Sale Trail which the Town has been involved in over the last few years. We are currently in the concept stage of planning and would love our community members to give us their suggestions as to how the event will operate. Submit an Expression of Interest to become involved in the event, either as a stall holder, volunteer or participant, by going to the Victoria Park Sustainability Fair page on the Your Thoughts website yourthoughts.victoriapark.wa.gov.au All Expressions of Interest must be received via the Your Thoughts website by 4.30pm on Monday, 15 August.

Hello everyone, I would like to thank the many individuals and community groups who have so far been involved in the public participation phase of the Evolve project. Your feedback will ensure that the Council’s Strategic Community Plan represents the needs and values of our vibrant community. For those of you who are wishing to know more about the services currently provided by the Town, visit the Your Thoughts website to view the newly-launched levels of service dashboards which outline all of the different services that the Town delivers to the community. Each dashboard is accompanied by a video featuring Town staff explaining more about what each service unit delivers to the community. As part of our mission to be a creative, attractive, friendly and environmentally sustainable (CAFE) Council, the Town is planning an exciting new event in the form of a sustainability fair to be held in October. For details about how to become involved, see the information to the left. I’m really looking forward to our exciting and interesting upcoming events for spring and summer!

Lathlain Park Management Plan – opportunity to be involved The Town is committed to developing recreational spaces the community can be proud of. We need your help to make this happen at Lathlain Park! We’re inviting residents to get involved in a series of workshops that will help develop a recreational, leisure and sporting precinct of long-term benefit to the entire community.

Register your interest at yourthoughts.victoriapark.wa.gov.au or by email to lathlainprecinct@vicpark.wa.gov.au or call 9311 8111. For more information on our workshops visit lathlainprecinct.com.au

With our project partners the West Coast Eagles and Perth Football Club, we want to deliver a space that we can all enjoy for years to come. Workshop dates: • 14 August 2016 • 28 August 2016 • 11 September 2016

Evolve Update Due to the overwhelming response we have had to the Evolve project the public participation period has been extended to October! Rest assured it’s not too late to be involved if you haven’t already signed up. There are still opportunities to participate in a few different ways so visit yourthoughts.victoriapark.wa.gov.au to find out how to be involved.
