ROVERS BY K AT H E R I N E LYA L L-WAT S O N W I T H R OXA N N E M C D O N A L D A N D BA R BA R A LOW I N G

Rovers is a delightful and modern comedy-drama that has audiences laughing, crying and celebrating the imagination and heart of Australia’s trailblazing women. Woven from true stories and wild machinations, this is a fast-paced & poetic night at the theatre that everyone will love. If you’ve ever faced a seemingly insurmountable obstacle, had to keep a family secret or said yes to a crazy dare in a bar, then this funny, heart-warming and crackling ode to Australia, and the daring women she breeds, will be just your cup of tea. Intrepid performers Roxanne McDonald and Barbara Lowing get behind the wheel and navigate audiences into risky terrain, journeying through the heart-lines of their lives and into the hilarious, fun-loving misadventures of the women who made them who they are today. PETE THE SHEEP BY A M O N K E Y BA A T H E AT R E C O M PA N Y P R O D U CT I O N

Based on the quirky picture book, Jackie French’s and Bruce Whatley’s characters have been cleverly adapted for the stage by the Monkey Baa founders, Eva Di Cesare, Sandie Eldridge & Tim McGarry. With music and lyrics created by Phil Scott and the comedic imagination of Jonathan Biggins as director, audiences will be delighted by foot-tapping tunes and witty storytelling. Shaun isn’t like the other Shearers in Shaggy Gully… he’d rather be styling than shearing and instead of ‘sheep-dog’, he has a ‘sheep-sheep’ named Pete. After being rejected by the shearers and their dogs, Shaun and Pete set up their own Shearing Salon in town and before long word is out and they are inundated with woolly clients and maybe a Ringer or two! This hilarious musical comedy, imaginatively told by four performers playing shearers, dogs and sheep explores the challenges and rewards of being an individual, and will be a lasting tribute to honouring your own spirit and strength, whilst working with the flock. Director Jonathan Biggins

I'LL DRINK TO THAT BY SA N D R A N E A L

Having become a regular in Townsville’s musical theatre scene, Sandra Neal has performed in many shows such as Annie, Les Miserables, Oliver, Wicked and most recently Mamma Mia. Now, in her one-woman show, Sandy reprises some of the great musical theatre songs from the rather motley assortment of characters she’s played who all share a common trait – they really enjoy a drink.

ANIMAL FARM BY G E O R G E O R W E L L C R E AT E D & A DA P T E D BY S H A K E & S T I R T H E AT R E C O

Animal Farm, one of the most controversial and studied political commentaries returns in a multi-award winning, critically-acclaimed physical theatre production. George Orwell’s simple yet intensely powerful fairy tale illustrates with stunning clarity and grotesque beauty how greed and power corrupts and with devastating consequences, can change the course of history. Revolution has taken place at Manor Farm. The pigs have assumed control and under the principles of Animalism a better life free from human service is promised to all. Guided by a simple set of rules and an unrelenting respect for authority, it is not long until the rules that promised freedom become the chains that bind the animals once again. Directed by Michael Futcher and realised by shake & stir and a cast of Queensland’s most dynamic actors, Animal Farm promises to be one of the most shocking, relevant and wickedly funny theatre events.
