T150 JCU Lecture Series The North Queensland Army Band (NQAB) formed a valuable part of the Townsville community during its operation between 1971 and 1984, helping to establish positive relations between the military and civilian communities within Townsville. In 1984 the NQAB was disbanded sparking considerable public outrage.
