The region’s potential as a renewable energy and green hydrogen hub is attracting international attention, as other major economies across the world seek out the affordable and secure supply of green energy.

The State Government’s announcement to acquire and fund CopperString 2032 is the key enabling infrastructure needed to connect North West Queensland with the National Electricity Grid for the first time in Australia’s history. This transmission line will unlock the $740 billion of untapped known minerals in this region and unleash 33GW of renewable energy along this corridor.
