TPA Powers On with Renewable Energy Project

Energy First Wind Turbine Installation

TPA’s growing business relationship with Renewables First is testament to TPA’s continued sector success. Renewables First took this wind project based at Blacktoft in Gilberdyke near Hull from initial feasibility study, through the consenting stages and on to installation. T: 0870 240 2381

TPA’s heavy duty aluminium panel installations provided site access for the individual wind turbine components to be transported to site.

Like all renewable energy technologies, wind power is a complicated area for the unfamiliar. There are good, mediocre and bad ground conditions, so it is important to work with an experienced portable access provider with established sector knowledge of how to deliver high quality and reliable installations. In the same vein, TPA know’s all too well that temporary access installations for Renewable Energy sites demand high levels of knowledge and experience to ensure that the required panel quantities and configurations are utilised to combat the bespoke and often treacherous ground conditions.

With the high majority of Wind and Solar installation sites being based in farm land or open field environments, its key that all portable access routes and working platforms be installed to the highest of standards in order to ensure project timelines are met and that the ground underneath is protected. Renewables First enlisted TPA in its supply of some 600 panels to be installed over 3 days via 2 installation crews. TPA sector experienced personnel were deployed in Richard Rawson as Project Co-ordinator and Oliver Dennis as Field Sales Engineer who both worked closely with the client project manager in the planning and overseeing of the site installation through to project completion and TPA’s panel recovery. TPA’s heavy duty aluminium panel installations provided site access for the individual wind turbine components to be transported to site. This saw TPA’s 600 panel portable roadway being utilised by an array of extendable trailer units leading to a 500 tonne mobile crane which made its way onto site before being utilised in the turbine’s component assembly. Compared to traditional access routes, such as wood or plastic, aluminum provides even in difficult weather conditions with smoothness and moisture thanks to the integrated profiling and its natural oxide layer has a clearly-grip surface. Especially in heavy construction and transport vehicles that require a sufficient traction for safe operation thus offering significant advantages.

TPA’s Aluminum HD Panels are lightweight and provide enormous strength with a 250T point load
