Festivals BBC Arabic Festival
The BBC Arabic Festival 2019 was a free, annual event in London's BBC Radio Theatre presenting films about today’s Arab world to a UK and global audience. The films shed light on the stories behind the headlines: coming of age stories about young women, life as a gay man in today’s Beirut, and the chilling role of technology in enabling people to witness their families in war zones. These extraordinary stories were told through a range of genres – from observational documentary to short features; comedy to mockumentary. tpr media positioned the festival as showcasing thoughtful and inspiring films, shedding new light on the Middle East and positioning Arabic film as high quality world cinema.
