So you want your own website, want to get on board the WWW and sell everybody coming and going - leaving a trail of smoke all the way to the bank... You know for certain that you have the products or the services and that people will BUY! BUY! BUY! You could be 100 % correct or you could be 100 % wrong. Today, web designers are able to create awesome looking websites that rival Hollywood productions with extravagant video, music and graphics that compete with Luke Skywalker flying through the canyons in Star Wars. Some of these websites become tourists stops. They look so awesome that visitors go there strictly to look at the awesome graphics. Chances are that you have a more practical reason for building your website. Many web designers will create a web page for as little as $ 25. You can find them by the hundreds on the internet. Save your money and buy some business cards instead. At least you will be able to hand them out to people you meet so they can contact you. In order for people to find your website through a Google search, your website must first be technically refined using SEO (Search Engine Optimization) which is a completely different field from simple web design. Few web designers are schooled and experienced in this area of expertise. Refining a website using SEO principles requires a great deal of research and testing but it can produce tangible real world results. Building that $ 25 website is very much like building a store in the middle of the Sahara Desert. Good luck on ever seeing a visitor.
