PROBLEM

POSSIBLE CAUSE

1.) Lift will not operate-"POWER ON" Control not armed properly. amber LED light does not come on.

Poor electrical connection. 3 Amp Mini ATO fuse is blown. Polarity is reversed. Circuit breaker tripped or disengaged.

2.) Lift will not operate-"LIFTGATE ACTIVATED" red LED light doe s not come on.

Faulty control. "POWER O N" amber LED light is blinking. Control not activated properly.

Faulty control. 3.) Blinking amber "POWER ON" LED. Low voltage condition.

4.) Lift will not raise or raises slowly -control working properly.

Poor grounds or connections. Power connected or reconnected since last use. Poor electrical connection. Battery charge is low. Release valve stuck, partially open or dirty. Release valve needs replacement. "Raise" solenoid not working. Oil level low. Vent plug not installed or dirty.

REMEDIES Turn the power on at the control by pressing the "PO WER ON" hidden switch, marked with black rings or circles (located between the Tommy Gate logo and the toggle switch). Check and repair or replace all cables and connections. Correct short and then replace fuse. Switch positive and negative cables. Check for short, then manually engage circuit breaker. Replace control. Low voltage condition. Check and repair or replace all cables and connections. Press the "LIFTGATE ACTIVATED" hidden switch twice within one second (located under the Tommy Gate logo). The red "LIFTGATE ACTIVATED" LED light should come on. Replace control. Check and clean or repair all electrical connections. Load test battery, then recharge or replace battery, if required. Reset control. Repair, replace, clean as necessary. Normal, press bullseye once to activate solid "POWER ON" red LED. Check power and ground cables and all connections. Recharge or replace battery. Raise platform completely and continue to run pump for 5 se conds. Contact Tommy G ate or distributor. Contact Tommy G ate or distributor. Check oil and add ISO grade 32 hydraulic oil O NLY . Check vent plug on pump tank. A red shipping plug is installed at the factory. It must be replaced by the metal vented plug. Remove some material or weight.

PROBLEM 5.) Lift settles down slowly with load or no load.

7.) Lift lowers very slowly, especially in cold weather.

8.) Lift will not lower.

Hoses or fittings leaking. Check valve stuck or dirty.

Tighten or replace. Raise and lower lift several times to flush out valve. Check valve damaged. Contact Tommy Gate or distributor. Cylinder seals worn or damaged. Contact Tommy Gate or distributor. Down solenoid sticking partially open. Contact Tommy Gate or distributor. Worn pump, motor or coupling. Contact Tommy Gate or distributor. Oil level low. Check oil and add ISO grade 32 hydraulic oil ONLY. Hinge arm pins seized to the Clean and/or replace arm pins and bushings. bushings.
