Breeding Soundness Exam

All bulls will have passed a fertility test before delivery. Any bull picked up sale day is guaranteed to pass a semen test. Thomas Ranch will pay for semen test costs. Scrotal measurements that are printed in the sale catalog were recorded on March 14, 2023 (Angus) and March 13, 2023 (Charolais, Simmental, & Red Angus).

BREEDER’S BULL GUARANTEEE

Bulls selling for more than $3000 are guaranteed for 90 days from first turnout against breeding injury. If a replacement bull is available, he will be provided. If a replacement bull is not available, credit will be given in next year’s Thomas Ranch Bull Sale. Credit will be for the purchase price less volume discounts and salvage value of the injured bull to be used for the purchase of one replacement bull. Please notify us as soon as possible should injury occur and prior to the injured bull being sold for salvage. All claims must be made prior to Oct. 1, 2023. This is not a mortality insurance policy.

Semen Interest

Thomas Ranch will retain 1/3 revenue sharing semen interest in all bulls selling in this sale unless otherwise stated. Buyer receives full possession and 100% salvage value.

Herd Health

• All bulls and heifers were vaccinated at turn out time with BoviShield Gold 1 Shot, Vision 7, Autogenous Pinkeye, and poured with Bimectin.

• Preconditioned mid-August with BoviShield Gold 1 Shot, Vision 7, Autogenous Pinkeye, Autogenous Histophilus/ Mycoplasma, and pour with Bimectin.

• Weaned in October and boostered with BoviShield Gold 1 Shot, Vision 7, Autogenous Pinkeye, Autogenous Histophilus/Mycoplasma, drenched with Synanthic, and repoured with Bimectin Bulls repoured in December with Clean Up II and given injectable Dectomax.

• Bulls & heifers were clipped and repoured with Protectus the second week of February.

• Heifers were bangs vaccinated on 11/30/2022

• Heifers given Bovi-Shield Gold FP 5 VLS and Anthrax in March.

Delivery

Thomas Ranch will offer free delivery on bulls beginning May 1, 2023 to South Dakota and surrounding states. After May 1, 2023 bulls left at the ranch will receive a $3 per day feed charge from Thomas Ranch. Bulls left between the sale and May 1 will be fed free of charge. We will assist in finding affordable and reliable delivery options to other parts of the country for bulls and heifers.

EPD’s & ULTRASOUND DATA

EPD’s printed in this catalog for the Angus offering were current as of February 14, 2023. Ultrasound data (%IMF, BF, & REA) and updated EPD’s will be available on sale day.

Terms

The terms of the sale are cash or check payable at the sale facility unless satisfactory credit arrangements have been made prior to the sale. The right of property shall not pass until after settlement is made. All settlements must be made with the clerks of the sale before any cattle will be released or transferred. All cattle sell under the standard terms and conditions of their respective breed associations. All major credit cards will be accepted with an additional 3.5% buyer’s premium.

Sight Unseen Purchase Guarantee

Buyers unable to be present may contact us for assistance. Bulls sent on order by management will be guaranteed to meet the buyer’s acceptance. Buyers may also contact the Auctioneers, ring staff, or any authorized representative listed in the sale catalog for assistance. Buyers may also register through CCI.Live to bid during the auction.

Announcements

Errors discovered in the catalog will be corrected by announcements from the auction block at sale time, and such corrections will take precedence over the printed material in the catalog.

Volume Discount

5% on 5 or more bulls purchased, and 10% for 10 or more bulls purchased. Any credits will be deducted before volume discounts are figured.

Insurance

Mortality insurance will be available sale day through Martin-Trudeau Insurance. Any deviations from the above statement will be worked out between the buyer and Thomas Ranch.

Accidents And Liability

All persons attend the sale at their own risk. The seller and sales management assume no liability, legal or other- wise, for any accidents occurring in, on, or about the premises.
