What You Need To Know Before Replacing A Toilet

TRAP TYPE:

S-TRAP OR P-TRAP

Refers to the waste pipe that exits a toilet suite. An S-Trap has a waste pipe that is connected through the floor, and the P-Trap connects directly through the wall.

Size And Set Out Measurement

P trap set out measurement is the distance from the floor to the centre of the waste, S-Trap set out is the measurement from centre of waste to the wall.

Seated Height And Projection

Consider the toilet's height, especially if you have specific accessibility needs or prefer a more comfortable seating position. Don’t forget to consider the length of the toilet from the wall to the end of the pan. Will there still be room to open the door?

WHERE IS THE WATER INLET FOR THE CISTERN?

The inlet pipe for your cistern will either be a back inlet (hidden behind the cistern) or a bottom inlet (identified by a flexible hose or a stop tap low down on the wall next to the pan).
