Here are a selection of Traidcraft Week resources for you to download and use for Traidcraft Week and beyond!

FREE RESOURCES

TRAIDCRAFT WEEK ISPY To celebrate Traidcraft Week and all things outdoors, we’re challenging you get outside and find all of the things listed in your bingo board below. Simply print off a copy and put a cross through the square when you spot the thing inside it – the first with a full house wins. Bonus point if you can name the species of butterfly you’ve spotted. Oak trees absorb lots of carbon dioxide, as well as providing food and shelter to wildlife.

SOLAR PANELS OAK TREE WORM BUTTERFLY

BEE SOMEONE RIDING A BICYCLE

SOMETHING THAT’S BEEN RECYCLED BIRD

There’s nothing quite like getting the whole community together over some fun (and sometimes silly!) outdoor games. To celebrate Traidcraft Week, and give you some garden game inspiration, we’ve rounded up 10 of our favourites! Whether you opt for one of our suggestions, or go for another of your own, let us know how you get on at social@traidcraft.co.uk – we’d love to see some pictures! GARDEN GAMES

RECYCLING CHALLENGE Each team will be set the challenge of making something from recycled items (natural or manmade) which they find outside. Will they create a spaceship, an animal or a famous building? The possibilities are endless. Prizes for the most inventive finished piece! OBSTACLE COURSE Will they have to crawl underneath a net? Limbo under a piece of rope tied between two trees? Hop in and out of recycled tyres? Or simply navigate their way around tricky objects laid out on the lawn? The severity of the obstacle course is up to the organiser – will you be cruel or kind when setting up?!

1 2 3 SACK RACE The sack race is a school sports day favourite – and it’s time to bring it back! If you don’t have a hessian coffee sack, you could get creative with something like an old pillowcase. First to jump all the way to a point and back (without toppling over!) is the winner.

FOXGLOVE COMPOST HEAP OR COMPOST BIN

Research suggests that bees are more attracted to yellow, white and blue blooms.

LITTER PICK UP Issue each team with a bin liner sized bag. The challenge is to fill the bag with litter – the first team with a full bag is the winner. Not only is this a super fun way to spend the afternoon, but it’s a great way of keeping your local community clean. 4 SCAVENGER HUNT You know your garden, outside spaces and local communities well – so why not challenge others to find the items you know are close by? A street sign, a bee hotel, a scarecrow, a tree with a distinctive marking? Write them down and challenge teams to be the first to find them all. 5

7BOULES Boules is an excellent game for all ages. Simply place an object – known as the jack - an agreed distance away from the competitors. They then take it in turns to throw their boules towards the object (the closest to the jack being the winner). If you don’t have a set of boules yourself, don’t worry, you can use any object as the jack and many sorts of balls in place of the boules. Marked tennis balls are a good option. TRAIDCRAFT WEEK BINGO Celebrating all things outdoors, we’re challenging you get outside and find all of the things listed in our bingo board. Teams or individuals simply put a cross through the square when they spot the thing inside it – the first with a full house wins. See our Traidcraft Week page for downloads! 8 6 COLOURING IN FUN For a little bit of a slower paced activity, colouring in is a great way to keep little ones busy whilst you’re having lunch or a cuppa. To celebrate all things Traidcraft Week, we have party hats and bunting to print off, colour in and make at your event. See our Traidcraft Week page for downloads!

BOARD GAMES Who doesn’t love a good board game? They get everyone talking and many are suitable for all ages. Scrabble, Battleships, Chess and Snakes and Ladders are among our favourites – but we’re sure you’ll have favourites of your own to bring out into the garden. 9

WHERE IN THE WORLD? This one’s great for the kids! If you take a look in the back of our summer catalogue, you’ll see there’s a ‘Where in the World’ section. Either print off a world map, trace one or get one up on a screen, pick a Traidcraft product (you could even cut them out of the catalogue if you like) and encourage players to match the product with its spot on the map. 10

BEE HOTEL INSECT LARVAE OR EGGS

HOVERFLY DANDELION

LADYBIRD LAWN CLOVER

Lawn clover and dandelions provide vital pollen for many species of bee.

FREE DELIVERY

ON ORDERS OVER £35

Over the past year and a half, the supply chains we rely on have suffered. Brexit, Covid and reduced availability of shipping containers were among many hurdles they’ve faced. As you will be aware, this has resulted in delays and out of stocks on the products you know and love. As a valued customer, we want to do all we can to show you that we sympathise and understand that it is frustrating. As a shortterm measure, and to kick off Traidcraft Week celebrations, we are reducing your minimum spend for free delivery to £35. We hope that this will make it easier for you to reach the minimum threshold, even if one of the items you’ve had your eye on is currently out of stock.
