GARTH WILLIAMS THERE IS A SEASON There is no limit to the amount of joy I get from painting nature using chords of color. Growing up in Montana and Idaho, I spent my childhood outdoors enjoying God’s creation. There was no such thing as the internet and a cell phone to consume my time. Instead I was on a trout stream or camping in the mountains with dad. Every one of the paintings in this new collection reminds me in some way of those special childhood days and how blessed I am to bring them to life on a canvas. I hope you will enjoy viewing them as much as I did painting them. — Garth Williams

BIOGRAPHY Born in the big sky country of Helena, Montana, Garth Williams grew up acquiring a great love of the outdoors. He fondly remembers his father packing him across a trout stream on his back so they could get to the next fishing hole. As he recalls, the best time to fish was always in the fall when the streams were low and clear and the autumn colors were always spectacular. Today, each time he paints a crisp autumn scene, many special memories come to mind. Ultimately, it was his grandfather, who painted with oils, that greatly influenced his decision to become a full time artist. Later, under the tutelage of good friend and fellow artist Robert Moore, he was able to study and develop the subtle nuances of impressionistic art. Since then, he has developed his own concept of realism using a fluid and painterly approach allowing the viewer to determine what shapes are actually woven together to create a visually stimulating scene. Garth Williams lives in a small town in the center of Southern Idaho, an idyllic area that provides much of the inspiration for this landscape interpretations. When he is not at the easel, he is sure to be found fly fishing the many lakes and streams of the area.
