Dear Friends This July we are pleased to present the works of Kathy Wipfler, Bruce Cheever and Jeremy Winborg. On the following pages you will see a sampling of the newest studio paintings by these highly esteemed artists. You can view the shows in their entirety by visiting our website. We start off the month with a one-woman show for Kathy Wipfler who, although a native Californian, is a local favorite in Jackson Hole which she has called home since 1978. Aptly titled Pure Landscape-A Western Journey, the show chronicles her recent painting trips across six western states; Arizona, California, Idaho, Montana, Utah and Wyoming. This new collection of paintings includes major studio works as well as smaller, intimate plein air studies painted on location.

Beginning July 15, the gallery will present Native Stories: Preserving Tradition, a two-man show featuring Utah based artists Bruce Cheever and Jeremy Winborg. Cheever’s paintings exemplify his affinity for tonalism and luminism. His newest works for this show are a selection of landscape, figurative, and still life, all depicting various aspects of Native American life and culture. Jeremy Winborg is best known for his bold and colorful figurative work of Native American subjects that blend realism with abstract backgrounds. Jeremy grew up in Utah working in an art studio alongside his father, an illustrator. Since then, he has focused on creating paintings of Native Americans that preserve a bit of history on each canvas. I am also excited to announce that Trailside is now representing Pennsylvania based wildlife and sporting artist Lou Pasqau. “Being a lifelong resident of the American west and an avid reader of western history, I have an affinity for the land, the wildlife and the ways that people have trod this land for thousands of years. My history readings are primarily first person accounts and archeological findings, which I find very informative as I paint the landscape and lifestyle of the region. I spend as much time as possible in the landscape and with the people who know the history of each area. By doing so I develop great reverence for the land, which I constantly refer to while creating my work.�

What has intrigued me most is the artistry of these peoples, and the efforts that went into making their existence more beautiful. Creating my paintings for this show has made me appreciate even more the hours they must have spent adorning their dwellings, clothing, and tools. It has also given me a small glimpse of their competency and skill.”

We are very pleased to welcome renown wildlife and sporting artist Lou Pasqua to our Jackson gallery. An aspiring artist from an early age, he spent over twenty years in graphic art before turning his attention full time to fine art. He studied and practiced various painting techniques and applied his natural talent to his favorite pastime, the great outdoors. His paintings were quickly accepted by major galleries and well-respected art critics. Lou Pasqua was the 2019 Featured Artist at the Southeastern Wildlife Exposition in Charleston, South Carolina and the 2012 Featured Artist at The Plantation Wildlife Arts Festival in Thomasville, Georgia. His work has appeared on the covers of Gray's Sporting Journal, The Upland Almanac, The Pointing Dog Journal, Texas Outdoors Journal, Retriever Journal, Field Trial Magazine, Canine Images, The Ruffed Grouse Society Magazine, and Quail Unlimited. His paintings have also been prominently featured in Wildlife Art, Sporting Classics and The Washingtonian.

Ezra Tucker began his awardwinning career more than four decades ago in the field of illustration and has spent many years pursuing his intense interest in nature and history. His most recognizable subjects are the animals he has painted for both commercial commissions and private collectors. His bold and distinctive style of painting reflects acute observation and knowledge of his subject and displays an intimate and emotional portrait quality and adept storytelling. He paints his animals as having apparent intelligence and individual distinctive personalities and he approaches his subjects from a naturalist point of view, with the goal of depicting personality, texture and motion.
