Aim: This toolkit is designed to allow participants to explore the key elements of strategic thinking. Strategic thinking training focuses on the practical elements of strategic thinking that can be used on a daytoday basis, as well as part of the wider strategic business planning process. By focusing on the bigger picture for an organization, participants will be able to link crucial business plans that contribute to delivering the wider strategic goals. Participants will leave equipped with techniques to support their strategic thinking and will be able to use these as a basis for action planning.
Strategic thinking training is no longer the preserve of senior managers, all people at all levels have to understand the strategic requirements of their organization, this is the only way a firm can be confident that its people are aware of and aligned behind its strategic aims.
Workshop Content:
Exploring the difference between operational and strategic thinking
Self analysis on how strategically focused participants currently are
Identifying the team vision
Understanding how to turn their vision into strategy
Highlighting organizational challenges/risks and ways to manage these
Exploring strategic thinking techniques and using them on ‘real’ working examples
Learning Outcomes:
As an outcome of this development, delegates will be able to:
Explain the differences between operational and strategic thinking
Understand the organizational bigger picture and the importance of aligning goals to this
Create a strategic vision that will inspire their team
Anticipate difficulties/obstacles and develop potential solutions
