BRIEF OV E RV I E W I am so pleased to announce the addition of wine and gastronomy tours to Transcendent’s portfolio. We will begin with the beautiful state of Washington, the second largest producer of premium wine in the country with over 900 wineries. The state boasts one more hour of sunlight than its sunny neighbor, California, and produces over forty red and white varieties. We will be making our way across the state starting from Seattle which receives over 45 inches of rain to the drier, warmer climate of southeast Washington where grapes can thrive and produce everything from delicate dry whites to full-bodied, aromatic and spicy red wines. If you love Bordeaux (Meritage) or Rhône-style wines, you will love Washington wines! As a Sommelier, wine educator and wine writer I have developed many relationships with winemakers and winery owners over the past sixteen years and look forward to sharing those experiences as well as my passion for wine with you. I have specially selected the wineries on our itinerary that reflect the unique terroir, quality and craftsmanship of the winemakers who made them including Mike Januik of Novelty Hill/Januik Winery, Bob Betz of Betz Winery, and Paul McBride, Owner of Force Majeure. Of course, wine wouldn’t be the same without food and where better to get to know each other than Seattle’s beloved Hot Stove Society owned by Seattle’s star chef, Tom Douglas. Please consider me your personal Sommelier. I will be accompanying you during the entirety of the tour to top-rated wineries always at your service to discuss anything and everything about the world of wine. In order to bring you the best of Washington wines, you will have private access to wineries that are not open to the public including Betz and Figgins. You will be tasting exclusive library wines and will be the first to sample highly rated top quality wines in barrel that have not been bottled yet. Please join me on this 4-day tour as Washington reveals its stunning vineyards, excellent wines and delicious cuisine. Stay tuned for my Southwest Michigan Shore Wine Trail in October and plans are underway for a European wine and food tour in 2018. Cheers,
