Joinery


JOINERY Joint is the place at which two things, or separate parts of one thing, are joined or united, either rigidly or in such a way as to permit motion; juncture. • Temporary joint can be dismantled without breaking the assembled parts • Permanent joint cannot be dismantled without breaking parts


TYING (BINDING) Union by which two pieces or elements are linked by tying (binding).


SEWING It is generally done by means of stitches, seams and backstitches using sewing thread as a joining element, either by hand or by machine.


INTERLACING (KNITTING) Union by of interlacing one or more threads at uniform intervals.


GLUE Union of objects using glue and/or inserts.


SCREW/NAIL Connection using screws, nails or bolts


MELT Precious Plastic


WELD Joining or fusing pieces by using heat and/or compression so that the pieces form a continuum.
