for Ukrainian Refugees

Nick Clarke, TEN Country Champion for Moldova

Did you or your church make a donation to our crisis fund? Do you wonder how our partners are using such gifts to provide practical help?

I was invited to Moldova to help with English at a summer camp. Whilst in Moldova, I was able to join James Vaughton for a few days and see some of the work that our partners are engaged in to support the large influx of refugees crossing the border from Ukraine.

We met pastors who were providing transport for people as they arrived across the border. We saw how local churches were using their camps and other buildings to provide accommodation for refugees, and volunteers from the churches were catering for the needs of the refugees.

We visited one of our partners, Beginning of Life, in Chisinau, led by Serghei Mihailov. Serghei showed us how goods donated by churches were used to create packs of essential items to give to needy refugee families.

They were also running a help and advice line for refugees. Beginning of Life are currently extending their building to create more space to serve refugees and continue their work in the community. TEN will support this building work using donations given to our Crisis Fund.
