Spain & Portugal
Why visit one amazing country when you can visit two? These two gems on the Iberian Peninsula have so much to offer. In Spain, Gaudi’s unfinished masterpiece – La Sagrada Familiar – is cemented in any Barcelona itinerary. Work began way back in 1882 and it is now expected to be finished in 2026, the centenary of Gaudi’s death. Visit the Prado in Madrid, see and be seen in Ibiza, learn flamenco in Seville, gaze in awe at the wondrous Alhambra Palace in Granada, or enjoy the delights of San Sebastián, along with more hidden gems such as Ronda, Albarracín or Agüero.
In Portugal, Lisbon is wall-to-wall colour with its stunning azulejo tiles, the ‘remodelado’ trams, the history of the Belém Quarter and the vibrancy of the Bairro Alto. Unveil the walled town of Obidos, do a river cruise on the Douro from Porto, relax on the Algarve and add on some days to visit the surprising island of Madeira.
