Popular Day Trips & Excursions

Red River Delta by bike Enjoy rustic scenery of the Red River Delta from the wheels and get insights into local way of life and culture. The tour takes you through stunning landscapes and traditional villages where the life rhythms remain intact.

Day 1 Start from Hanoi center, visit the morning market and ride pass green land along the bank of Red River toward Bat Trang ceramic village. Ride deep further to the rich delta along country paths shaded by longan trees , observe the real local life where it happens and sharpen your shooting skill with stunning photos. Reach Stork Island Village in Hai Duong Province in the afternoon. Take a boat rowing to visit water bird sanctuary and enjoy the countryside scenery at sunset amongst the call and flap of thousands of birds. Dinner with locals and chat learn more about their life and culture. Overnight in the local home.

Day 2 Join with your local host for morning exercise and enjoy a home breakfast. Cycle along peaceful country road toward an an ancient village where you will visit the village temple and ancient houses and observe the typical atmosphere of the past lingers to this modern day. Later, visit Dong Ho traditional painting village and chat with local artisan to learn about the very typical traditional arts of Vietnam. Visit But Thap Pagoda built from 13th century with famous pen-shape stone stupa and a masterpiece of woodcarving - thousand hands Goddess of Mercy. More cycle and then transferred back to Hanoi. Tour finishes around 5PM.

Hoa Lu - Tam Coc Ninh Binh, just less than a hundred km from Hanoi is known for its rustic country landscapes, spectacular mountains and water as well as historical sites. Hoa Lu ancient capital in Truong Yen commune that surrounded by soaring rocks and rice paddies is where 2 dynasties of Dinh and Early Le ruled the country in the 10th and 11th century. The Tam Coc “three caves” portion with two-hour excursion by small boat along a little river through a scenic landscape dominated by rice fields and karst towers will bring you absolutely unforgettable experience.

After 2,5 hour drive through the countryside of the Red River Delta you will arrive in Hoa Lu, the ancient capital of Vietnam for a short time between 10th and 11 century. Visit to temple that dedicated to King Dinh Tien Hoang who founded up the sovereignty of Vietnam after thousand years under Chinese domination and the other dedicated to King Le Dai Hanh who protected the young independence of Vietnam from foreign invaders. Climb to Ma Yen mountain for the beautiful the karst landscape in the area before proceeding to Tam Coc for a stunning rowing boat trip on Ngo Dong River thru labyrinth natural caves. As the boat gently glides through the water, observe the enormous limestone karsts jutting out from the green rice fields giving rise to its other name, 'Halong on Land'.

SAPA EXPERIENCE A great adventure experience on one of the most beautiful place in the country and the understanding about Vietnamese cultural diversity. TREKKING MAICHAU & PU LUONG Day 1: Your arrival day today. In the evening get transfer to Hanoi Train Station for the 9 hours overnight train to Lao Cai City, the gateway to Sapa. Sleep well and ready for exciting day ahead. Day 2: Arrive Lao Cai in the early morning. Take one hour drive up hill through cloud and pristine, spectacular landscape to get to Sa Pa. Today you will have visits to Cat Cat, Sin Chai and Ma Tra villages of Black H’mong people. A great chance to see, meet and talk with locals and learn about their life and traditions. Remainder of the day is to wander around lovely mountain town of Sapa. Overnight in hotel in Sa Pa.

Day 3: Trek down hill on the most spectacular trekking path with mountains, forest and terrace fields. Meet people from some hill tribes with their typical and colorful dress walking, working and playing. It is the chance for interesting local interaction and to fill up your album with beautiful photos. Descend down to a beautiful village of Dzay where you will enjoy the first hand experience of home stay in local house on stilts.

Itinerary Day 1: Mai Chau Stunning rural and mountain scenery on the drive. Walking around the minority Village of Mai Chau. Homestay in Lac Village. Day 2: Trek to Cun Pheo (21km) Follows a mixture of paths, streambeds, and steep jungle hillsides, karst mountains and rice fields through different hill tribe communities. Overnight at Cun Pheo village.

Day 4: Visit to one of the most colorful hill tribe market of the area where you see minority people from different mountains come to sell, buy, meet friends and find their partner. It is an awesome experience of seeing colors, understanding traditions and feeling the atmosphere. Take overnight train back to Hanoi.

Day 3: Trek to Hang village (25km) Rewarding scenery and wonderful opportunity to experience local life on the former Ho Chi Minh Trail in Pu Luong Nature reserve. Day 4: The hills of Pu Luong (18km) Explore more remote route in an evergreen area of nature reserve. Homestay at Kho Muong. Day 5: Nua Village Hike down hill, visit local market, absorbing the sites, sounds and smells of the colorful event. Trek further and overnight in Nua Village.

Day 5: Early arrival in Hanoi then transfer to your hotel or central Hanoi for onward departure.

This is an active paced tour designed for those who have limited time to travel and interest in getting off the beaten track with an adventure of trekking and experience local home stay with ethnic minorities. It is also a good active extended explore after classic trips.

Start at at 5.00AM to cycle around the Hoan Kiem Lake for morning scenes of Hanoi when things still so pure and fresh. Continue to the Ba Dinh Square where you will witness the national flag hoisting ceremony that takes place at 6.00am every day, a special sight that you should not miss. Pedal your way to the Long Bien Bridge, a hundred years old special architecture - sister of Eifel tower to catch the sunrise on the Red River and then paddle along the river bank to visit to the flower market where you will see different type of colorful flowers gathered from country villages to be sold. Some typical moment of a country lady smiling by her basket of flower can be caught by your camera. You will then cross the river dike to get to the West Lake, the largest and a typical sight of Hanoi where you will cycle along the lakeside path in the fresh air along with locals jogging and doing morning exercise. In the summer time, the West Lake is filled with fragrant of lotus growing along its bank. Someone gently glide on mirror like water through the lotus farm taking off tea they left in the flowers the evening before for special lotus scented tea. Continue to a local market where you will enjoy the cheerful atmosphere of selling and buying things and learn more about Vietnamese food. Halong Bay cruises

Halong, the bay of descending dragon, is one of the most beautiful places on earth and is a very popular travel destination in Vietnam. Just 170km from Hanoi, Halong bay with its outstanding scenic landscape, special geographic and historical features has been twice recognized by UNESCO; the first time in 1994 as Natural World Heritage and second time in the year 2000 as Natural and Cultural World Heritage. The bay covers an water territory of 1,553km2 that home to 1969 limestone islets in various sizes and shapes, of which 989 islets have been named by people according to their shapes such as sail islet, incense burner islet, pen islet, teapot islet, turtle islet, swan islet and so on... The limestone in this bay has gone through 500 million years of formation in different conditions and environments.

The evolution of the karst in this bay has taken 20 million years under the impact of the tropical wet climate. The erosion of limestone has found not only the shape of islands and islets here but also created lots of cave in the area, some of them boasted most beautiful in the country. Dotted among the bay are some floating fishing villages where people live on floating houses are sustained through fishing and marine aquaculture In 2009, the New 7 Wonders Foundation, which runs the New Seven Wonders of the World program, included Halong Bay on its list of nominations as one the World's New 7 Wonders of Nature. On November 11, 2011, the New 7 Wonders Foundation provisionally named Halong Bay as one of them. Ha Long bay is also a member of the Club of the Most Beautiful Bays of the World.

Ban Gioc waterfalls Ban Gioc is the best-known waterfalls in Vietnam. One end of the falls is in China, the other is in Vietnam. It is currently the 4th largest waterfall along a national border after Iguazu Falls, Victoria Falls, and Niagara Falls. The fall is with the height of 53m and width of 300m, comprises 3 layers with water falling from the peak, creating spectacular scenery. During rainy season, the thundering effect of the water hitting the cliffs can be heard from afar and the water columns that can be seen from a very far distance. At the foot of the waterfall is a large river, as calm as glass. It would be a miss if you ignore the paddy fields along the way leading to the base of the falls.

Conquer The

fAnsipan Fansipan is the highest in Indochina, at 3,143 metres (10,312 ft). It is located in the the Northwest region of Vietnam, 9 km southwest of Sa Pa Township in the Hoang Lien Son mountain range. Fansipan is dubbed "the Roof of Indochina"; it is to be approved as one of the very few ecotourist spots of Vietnam, with about 2,024 floral varieties and 327 faunal species. The topography of Fansipan is varied. Muong Hoa Valley, at the lowest altitude (950 to 1000m), is created by a narrow strip of land at the base on the east side of the mountain. It can be climbed in a steep and fairly strenuous hike.

The South (Ho Chi Minh City to Phan Thiet) The South is hot year round and has two seasons; one wet and the other dry. The wet season lasts from May to October and you can expect brief daily downpours. The dry season from November to April is generally sunny and humid.

Peak Season Approximately 20th December – 20th January Time GMT + 7 hours

The Centre (Nha Trang to Hue) For most of the year Nha Trang is bathed in beautiful sunshine. However, between November and December the area has heavy rain. Dalat, at an altitude of 1,500 meters is cooler than the coastal area, particularly from November through to March. Danang, Hoi An and Hue experience typhoon activity from midOctober to mid-December when the climate becomes cooler, more overcast and wetter.

Visas/Passports Visas are required for most nationalities and can be obtained in the guest’s home country or Custom Vietnam Travel can arrange them in advance. Visitors can obtain a visa on arrival but must have a letter of approval. Otherwise, visitors must have a valid visa on arrival. Passports must be valid for 6 months after final departure date.

The North (Hanoi to Sapa) Summer in the north lasts from May to October when temperatures range between 30 and 35 degrees Celsius with high humidity and bursts of heavy rain. The tempe-rature varies from 10 to 15 degrees in Winter (December to March). February and March can be damp with drizzle.

Airports Ho Chi Minh City’s Tan Son Nhat airport is approximately 7 kilometers northwest of the city centre. Hanoi’s Noi Bai airport is approximately 35 kilometers north of the city centre.
