BEFORE YOU GO We require copies of the following documents from you at least 8 weeks before you depart the UK: ●●Copies of passports ●●Copies of birth certificates that have been re-issued and dated within 3 months of your wedding date* ●●Decree absolute (if divorced) ●●Deed Poll (if name has changed) issued by UK Deed Poll Office ●●Copies of former marriage certificate if widowed and copies of former spouse’s death certificate ●●Copies of adoption papers if applicable ●●Non-English documentation must be translated into English and duly stamped by an official translator ●●One signed copy of the Beachcomber Wedding Application form which we will send to you when you make a booking * New UK birth certificates must be ordered online at https://www.gov.uk/order-copy-birth-death-marriage-certificate Please take care not to order too early as the date of issue must be no earlier than 3 months prior to the wedding date. To ensure we receive your documents on time, please use the priority service. REMEMBER ●●Weddings can take place Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays) and please note, as we need to plan in advance with the Civil Status Office, we require your documentation as soon as possible. We also suggest that you are in Mauritius for at least three working days before your wedding date. ●●You need to take all the original documentation above with you to Mauritius excluding the Beachcomber Wedding Application form which you would have sent to us. ●●Each airline we offer has a different policy regarding the carriage of your wedding outfits. Please speak to a member of staff for the most up-to-date policy for your airline. We do recommend that you have your wedding outfits professionally packed and marked as fragile. ●●We have a superb Wedding Party Offer which we hope will encourage as many of your family and friends to join you as possible. The offer is only applicable to guests staying at the same hotel as you. If you’re arranging a wedding reception, a minimum of 40% of your guests must be staying at the same hotel as you. WHEN IN MAURITIUS When you arrive at your resort in Mauritius your wedding planner will meet up with you to plan your special day. ●●You’ll choose your wedding location within the resort, most decide on the gardens near the beach, but the choice is yours. ●●Your wedding will usually take place in the late afternoon as it’s cooler, the light is better for photographs and you’ll get to take advantage of the sun setting over the Indian Ocean. Times are subject to registrar availability and seasonality. ●●Two witnesses are required and the hotels will happily provide witnesses if necessary ●●Subject to availability a room will be made available for the groom to change in ●●A little Mauritian red tape - if the bride-to-be has been divorced in the last 10 months, she will need a Mauritian Doctor’s certificate of non-pregnancy. There is a charge for the test and certificate. ●●Your wedding planner in resort will book your treats included in your Beachcomber wedding package and can arrange any extras you may require from photography, a videographer, flowers, hairdressing to live music. If you would like to bring a CD with your own music, the hotels will provide a CD player for you. Beachcomber cannot be held responsible for any delay in processing the formal documents following the civil ceremony. Additional documents and payment may be required depending on the nationality of the bride and groom.
