The mansion is spectacularly decorated annually for the holidays both inside and out.

“Christmas at the Seiberling” opens the Saturday night after Thanksgiving and remains open through the holidays with opportunities to visit both during regular hours and evenings.

The Seiberling Mansion is the epitome of elegance and grandeur.

Built in 1891 by industrialist Monroe Seiberling, the mansion features stunning architectural design and beautiful hand-carved woodwork throughout. It includes eight rooms on the first floor, seven on the second and a grand ballroom on the third floor with an entrance to the rotunda outside.

Insider tip: An access ramp is located at the rear entrance. While there is no interior elevator, a virtual tour video of the second and third floors is available on the first floor.

The World’s Largest Steer weighed over 4,000 pounds at his death in 1910. A taxidermist was hired to stuff Old Ben, who is now housed in a pavilion in Highland Park. You have to see him to believe it!

Cool Off At Kokomo Beach

While not an actual beach, Kokomo Beach Family Aquatic Center offers a fun way for all ages to cool off on a hot summer day!

High-energy water slides, a lazy river, leisure pool and kid’s splash pad are just a few of the features you’ll find. The aquatic playground includes slides, dumping buckets, water cannons and mesh tubes for younger kids. For the serious swimmer, a lap pool is available.

SEE THE WORLD’S LARGEST STEER

Atrue must-see! Old Ben weighed 125 pounds at his birth in 1902 and was tipping the scales at 2 tons by his fourth birthday. As he grew, he became quite the celebrity as his owners exhibited him at many fairs. A World War II postcard bearing his image spread far and wide, increasing his notoriety.

When he died in 1910, he weighed more than 4,500 pounds, stood 6.5 feet tall and measured 16 feet long. Now, the world’s largest steer is housed in a pavilion in Highland Park, for all to see.
