Festivities reloaded

After the long hiatus of the last couple of years, life is beginning to regain its lost sheen. Like prisoners released from a cage, people are bursting forth with the excitement of newfound freedom once again. The figurative chains have been broken, suppressed emotions have given way to enthusiasm, and the plethora of restrictions have been lifted. We can breathe once more, minus the mask for the most part. The festive season has come as a breath of fresh air, a new lease of life. Women can be seen congregating in temples and gatherings, decked in their colourful kanjeevarams, shimmering in their beloved golden ornaments retrieved from the forgotten interiors of their cupboards. Children are once more freely indulging in fun activities and looking forward to their food delights and firecrackers. It’s time for families and friends to reconnect. Diwali beckons with the promise of light all around, and the bounty of feasts and new clothes, fun times for children, traditional and much-loved sweets for the young and the old alike. Delve in the delights of Diwali and dispel the darkness of the years gone by. Celebrate, rejoice, reload happiness.
