Bangalore Trade Association celebrates Retail Employees Day & MG Road Shopping Festival 2023

Bangalore Trade Association (BTA) completed 2022 on a rewarding note, fulfilling the dream of their employees who have been toiling behind the counters of the stores. Appreciating their hard work and years of loyalty, they celebrated Retail Employees Day on the 12th of December 2022. Mr. Vijayashekar Ravi Deepam – Director of Deepam Silks, Elected President of Bangalore Trade Association, a registered trade association that was established in 1899 making it 125 years for the association, informs, “The association and 40 shopkeepers joined together and made special arrangements for the Retail Employees Day, as the employees behind the counter do a thankless job, and making them feel special and celebrating them was something the association wanted to fulfill. We asked the shopkeepers to nominate two names of employees who have done commendable work throughout the year for the Best Employee Award, and also for Best Sales. Certificates and mementos


were awarded and all were appreciated for their effort at the stores and for being selfless in their service.” The Guest of Honour for the event was Mr. Manohar D. Chatlani – Managing Director of Soch Stores, who was very moved by the celebration and gave an emotional speech. Additionally, Dr. M.A. Saleem, IPS, Special Commissioner Traffic who has been doing a commendable job, graced the occasion with his presence and released balloons as a celebratory gesture. He also gave an insightful speech encouraging the employees and appreciating the association for celebrating such a wonderful and meaningful day. The association announced a Special Insurance Policy for the employees, with a monthly scheme of Rs. 200, the employees get medical insurance, Rs. 2000 hospital insurance free, Rs. 3000 accidental insurance free, and up to 30% discount on medicines from 12 clinics across Bangalore. The employees from different stores showcased their talents in the cultural and entertainment segment, and the best performances were awarded for their talents. The MG Road Shopping Festival is being held from January 1st to 17th, the association is lighting up and brightening MG Road. 18 stores and shopkeepers are taking part in the festival where they will be offers galore. The offers are mentioned in the coupon that will be handed out to the shoppers, and they can shop, eat and enjoy the best bargains and deals the festival is offering. Silk stores, jewellery stores, wedding wear stores, and some of the favourite restaurants can be found on the coupon.
