Started 18 years ago by Gowri Parvathy as a small boutique store, Aavaranaa is an expression of her passion for creating exquisite as well as easy-to-wear collections of sarees with the finest embroideries, patchwork, mirrorwork and other detailing on sarees, blouses, and now even a line of young girls’ pattu pavdai.

At Aavaranaa each silk saree is woven with distinctive designs and patterns to stand out as the most exclusive saree for any occasion. To give an experience on the ethnic weave the silk saree season is back, and no place better than Aavaranaa to get all the rare and carefully woven six yards where quality is foremost from the weave to the fabric to the craftwork.

The patterns range from little borders with the classic annams and rudrakshams to the more contemporary styles. There is also a selection of the retro araipagams suitable for all occasions ranging from an intimate gathering to a grand wedding and all other requirements in between.

Saree are distinguished by their wide contrast borders. Temple borders, checks, stripes, floral buttas are traditional designs found on a kanchipuram saree. The motifs used in the kanchipuram sarees were inspired from South Indian temples or natural features like leaves, pakshis and animals.

Aavaranaa sarees are available in different materials from South silks to Banarasi silks, uppada silks, tussar silks, tissues, organzas, chiffons and of course lancipuram silks. There are also unique fusion sarees and blouses which are head-turner at any gathering. All designs are evergreen with classic patterns that will never go out of style.
