General Information For All Tours 1. Bookings & Payment Bookings can be made by completing the booking form on this brochure or by contacting us by phone, mail or e-mail. Bookings can be made with a $100 per person deposit. Full fare is payable one month prior to departure or two months if the tour contains an airfare. Bookings within the full fare payable period require full payment. We accept payments by cash, bank cheque, personal cheque, money order, bank transfer or credit card (Visa, MasterCard). Payments by credit card over $200 are not accepted unless a 2% of value service fee is included. 2. Departure Points • Land based tours depart from and return to the Westrail Centre (Interstate Rail Terminal) East Perth. • Tours with air travel depart from Perth Airport. • Passengers may also depart from our O’Connor depot by arrangement. 3. Fare Protection A Fare Protection Plan is available which is designed to protect your fare should you become ill or a member of your family become life theateningly ill before or whilst on tour. Details are available when booking. 4. Your Health We have no age limit or health standard. We do however trust to your good sense. We ask that if you do have a condition which may affect you while on tour to inform our staff on booking. We suggest, if you are elderly or have recently had a serious illness, to consult your doctor to see if you are fit to travel. Because of the variety of temperatures encountered on the tours and the fact that you travel in close confinement with other people you may consider having a flu injection before departure, particularly on winter tours. 5. Coaches Casey Australia Tours, operate; Coaches With onboard toilet, reclining seats, air conditioning, tinted windows, comfortable air suspension & chilled drink fountain. 4WD Coaches With reclining seats, seatbelts, air conditioning, tinted windows & front mounted touring camera. No onboard toilet. 6. Pricing Main price is shown for a Perth departure with a return to Perth. All prices are based on twin share accommodation. Single Supplements are available on most tours. All inclusions are stated at the begining of each tour description and in the day by day itinerary. 7. Airfares We use air services of Qantas, Virgin Blue, Jetstar, Skywest and Air New Zealand. Carrier and flight times are provided one month prior to departure. 8. Alteration of Flights If you wish to have a different departure or return flight from the scheduled flight a fee of $50 per person is payable along with any increase in the cost of the new flight from the scheduled flight. 9. Departures from other capital cities (Not Perth) For most tours there is a set price for passengers departing from other capital cities. This price includes the tour as per the day by day discription as well as anything noted for Eastern States passengers.

Types of Accommodation On the day by day discriptions in this brochure you will find codes relating to meal and accommodation, these codes are explained below. Motels Generally 3 star or better. All rooms are ensuited. Rooms will be allocated on a twin share basis. (Optional Single Supplement available, please see individual tour details for costing). Cabins Cabins may be a single room with ensuite, TV etc and the equivalent of a budget motel. Others may be a room with beds and no ensuite. Rooms will be allocated on a twin share basis. (Optional Single Supplement available, please see individual tour details for costing). Cabins in Mount Augustus Cabins are mining style ‘dongas’ and do not provide ensuite. Cabins in Coober Pedy Cabins are underground dormitory style and do not provide ensuite. Cabins in Mungeranie & Ray Station Do not provide ensuite. Camping Some camping is in the beauty of Australian bush and on other nights we use the facilities of caravan parks. Tents will be allocated on a twin share basis (optional single tent $80 per tour). Tents are 180cm high 270cm square at the base, fully floored, and very simple to erect, four pegs a pole in the middle and the tent is up. Passengers are expected to work in teams to erect the campsite. There is electric floodlighting of the area. Coach Tours, sleeping is on foam mattresses (optional camp stretcher $40 per tour). 4WD Coach Tours, sleeping is on camp stretchers, no mattresses.

Meal Codes and Descriptions Breakfast CAB - Camp Breakfast; Cereal, toast, tea & coffee. BB - Breakfast Boxes; Each room is given a box with all the requirements for cereal and toast. 7 DAY LAKE EYRE, FLINDERS RANGES PORT AUGUSTA & ADELAIDE

Then a tour of Adelaide City and surrounds, with free time to explore this delightful city. Later settle into the accommodation in Elizabeth.

Quorn then onto Hawker, the hub of the Flinders Ranges and Leigh Creek which supplies the coal for the power stations at Port Augusta. Day 4: (BB, PD, Motel) We leave the bitumen at Lyndhurst to arrive at Marree, at one time a major centre on the Ghan Railway to Alice Springs. Today is all about Lake Eyre, one of the largest lakes in Australia and also the lowest point on the continent. We head out to look over Lake Eyre. The Lake Eyre Basin is a very special part of Australia. it covers one sixth of the continent and holds some of the rarest, least exploited ecosystems on the planet. We have a flight over Lake Eyre and later a BBQ dinner in the SA outback before returning to Leigh Creek. (N.B. 1.5 hour Lake Eyre flight

Smelters have been in operation here since 1889, and it became the biggest lead smelter in the world by 1934. Port Pirie is also the home of the ‘Shakka’ model, at 5.5m its the longest white pointer shark landed in South Australia. Onto Port Augusta at the northern point of the Spencer Gulf. We visit The Wadlata Outback Centre, a theatrical experience depicting a journey through time in the Flinders Ranges and the Outback of South Australia. Later we visit the Arid Inland Botanical Gardens and the Matthew Flinders lookout over the upper reaches of the Gulf. (N.B. Wadlata Centre included in your fare.) Day 3: (BB, MD, Motel) Following the Pichi Richi Railway up to

Settled by Lutheran migrants largely from Prussia, many of which were

aboard the Zebra. The town is named after Captain Dirk Meinhertz Hahn, who was captain of the Zebra. German influence is very apparent in Hahndorf in the traditional ‘fachwerk’ architecture of the original surviving buildings. We return to Adelaide for our afternoon flight home after a fabulous tour of South Australia.

Into the Giles Weather Station then on past Docker River and the Hull River to Kata Tjuta (The Olgas)

and camp at Yulara. Day 5: (CAB, PD, Tents in CVan Park) An interesting day at Uluru. Fly over it, wander around it, visit the National Park display, Yulara Village and view the sunset on the Rock. A great day. N.B. Flight over Uluru not included. Cost approximately $185. Day 6: (CAB, CAD, Tents in CVan Park) Off to Kings Canyon. Which is a superb example of rich red Central Australian landscape. You have an afternoon to walk it as you will. Day 7: (CAB, RD, Motel) Off early to the Alice then onto the very impressive Standley Chasm and Simpsons Gap. Day 8: (CAB, RD, Motel) We take you to the original Telegraph Station, then drop you in town for you to wander. Weather permitting you may take an optional balloon trip with Spinifex Ballooning. Cost approx. $245. Day 9: (CAB, CAD, Underground Dorm no ensuite) South over the South Australian border to Coober Pedy. N.B. Cabins in Coober Pedy are underground, do not supply linen and do not provide ensuite. Day 10: (CAB, CAD, Tents in CVan Park) Coober Pedy is a fascinating place. One of the biggest towns in S.A, it is home to 92% of Australia’s opals. People live underground to escape the summer heat. A morning tour and Opal display. Later we head east to William Creek situated just to the south west of Lake Eyre. Onto the Oodnadatta Track with numerous former small settlements that serviced the Ghan. Day 1: (MD, Motel) We land in Broome, a lovely historic old pearling town and visit Chinatown, the Japanese Cemetery, Roebuck Bay and have a full tour of the town. Day 2: (FB, PD, Motel) Today a visit to Malcolm Douglas new Wilderness Park just out of Broome. In the afternoon we have free time to explore Broome as you want or an optional tour of the Willie Creek Pearl Farm. We have a fish and chips evening meal watching the sunset over Cable Beach with optional Camel ride. N.B. Malcolm Douglas park included. Camel ride and Willie Creek not included. Day 3: (FB, CAD, Safari Tent with Ensuite) Onto Fitzroy Crossing on the Fitzroy River near its junction with the Margaret River. Day 4: (CAB, CAD, Tent in National Park) Onto Halls Creek, where gold was first discovered in WA in 1884. Then off the bitumen and into Purnululu National Park. Day 5: (CAB, PL, CAD, Tent in Nat. Park) We spend the day in the National Park exploring Echidna Chasm and Cathedral Gorge. There is a optional Helicopter flight available to obtain another perspective of this stunning environment. NB. Helicopter flight not included. Day 6: (CAB, MD, Motel) Past the Warmun and onto the Victoria Highway to Kununurra, to recharge and restock for our journey onto the Gibb River Road. While here we tour the vast irrigated

farms growing a diverse range of goods from melons and mangoes to sandalwood. Day 7: (CB, PL, CAD, Tent at Station) Onto the Gibb River Road, across the Chamberlain River past Home Valley and Ellenbrae. We turn onto the road to Kalumburu and Camp at Drysdale Station. Day 8: (CAB, PL, CAD, Tent in Bush) An early morning flight over the Drysdale River and Mitchell Falls is available then we head out to Kalumburu mission. Benedictine Monks from New Norcia first developed a mission in this region in 1908. During WWII it was a Air Force Base to defend against Japanese Planes. NB. Micthell Falls flight not included. Day 9: (CAB, PL, CAD, Tent in Bush) We head up to the Mitchell Falls on the Mitchell Plateau, a stunning and remote region of the world where we camp for two nights. Day 10: (CAB, PL, CAB, Tent in Bush) A full day hiking around the Mitchell Falls. There are many pools and waterfalls along the way to the spectacular Mitchell Falls. After a lunch break we return to camp for a delightful evening in the Kimberley landscape. In the afternoon we tour the Kimberley’s newest town, Kununurra, Lake Kununurra, the Diversion Dam and the very productive farmlands. Day 6: (CB, PL, MD, Motel) For those who wish a early morning flight over the Bungle Bungles is available. On return its off for a marvellous boat cruise on Lake Agyle. We visit the Durack Homestead and the Dam Wall. The Ord is spectacular and interesting. The afternoon is free to relax. N.B. Boat cruise included. Optional flight over Bungle Bungles not included

(approx $270). Day 7: (CB, MD, Motel) A wonderful drive past the very beautiful and remote Victoria River to Katherine on the Katherine River. A service centre for the Central Northern Territory region, a vast area of mainly cattle stations, national parks and Aboriginal lands. We visit Springvale Station, the oldest station in the Territory. Day 8: (FB, RD, Motel) A morning boat cruise on spectacular Katherine Gorge. Its off via Pine Creek and Adelaide River with its beautiful War Cemetery to Darwin. NB. Boat Crusie Included Day 9: (CB, Motel) A full day in Darwin and a full tour, taking in the City Centre, East Point, Fanny Bay and Darwin Museum (depicting the events of cyclone Tracey in 1974). The afternoon is free time for you to enjoy Darwin as you wish, with optional visit to the East Point Military Museum (depicting the bombing raids on Darwin in 1942). N.B. Entry to East Point Museum not included.

Day 10: (CB, RD, Motel) We travel via the Arnhemland Highway to the Kakadu National Park. A boat cruise in the afternoon shows us the wonderful variety of wildlife and scenery in the national park. We return to Darwin with a stop for dinner along the way. N.B. Boat cruise included in your fare. Day 11: (CB, RD, Cabin with Ensuite) South via Adelaide River and Pine Creek and Katherine to the Mataranka Thermal Pool, an absolutely beautiful spot to relax in these natural springs. Day 12: (CB, MD, Motel) Further south through the Northern Territory past Larrimah to the Daly Waters Pub built to service the drovers and settlers and later used as a important location to supply the defence of Darwin in WWII. Day 2: (CB, RD, Motel) The Overland Telegraph Line was completed in 1872. It traced Explorer John Mcdouall Stuart’s route and opened up the interior for permanent settlement. This morning

we visit the original telegraph station on the Todd River. It wasn’t until alluvial gold was discovered at Arltunga, 100 km east of the present Alice Springs, in 1887 that any significant settlement occurred. We explore Arltunga Historic Reserve and find a complete ghost town - with the remains of mines, mining camps and stone buildings. The police station and gaol have been completely restored. In the afternoon we wander the natural features of the East MacDonnells and return to Alice. Day 3: (CB, PL, RD, Kings Motel)

Breaks in the ranges were hard to find for the surveyors of the Telegraph Line in the 1870’s. From Heavitree Gap we visit some smaller breaks in the ranges Simpsons Gap and Stanley Chasm. Continuing along Namatjira Drive parallel to the West MacDonnells for lunch at Redbank Gorge. In the afternoon we swing out to the Tanami Road which winds North West from Alice Springs to Halls Creek in WA. We return to Alice along the Tanami. In June 1770, the local Aboriginal Guugu Yimithirr tribe cautiously watched the crippled Endeavour limp up the coast seeking a safe harbour after sustaining serious damage south of Cooktown. Day 4: (CB, CAD, Tent in Bush) Onto Lakefield National Park, the 2nd largest National Park in Queensland and a haven for many marsupials and water birds. Day 5: (CAB, PL, CAD, Tent at CVan Park) Onto Musgrave and the Peninsular Development Road to Weipa. Weipa started as a Presbyterian Mission to the Aboriginal people of the Cape but is now the largest settlement on the cape due to a large Bauxite

Deposit in the region now mined by Rio Tinto. Day 6: (CB, PL, CAD, Tent in Bush) After touring around Weipa we head back to the Telegraph Road in the centre of the Peninsular and to the Moreton Telegraph Station. Day 7: (CAB, PL, CAD, Camp in CVan Park) As the northern most tip of the country gets closer the journey becomes increasingly stunning. We cross the Jardine River Cape York, QLD on the Vehicle Ferry and settle in Bamaga. Just kilometres from the tip. Day 8: (CAB, PL, CAD, Camp in CVan Park) Today is all about reaching the Cape. Named by James Cook on 21 August 1770 in honor of Prince Edward, Duke of York and Albany. We drive as far as we can but then have to walk out over the rocks to the tip. From there it is 160km to New Guinea across the Torres Strait. We return to Bamaga to celebrate reaching this iconic Australian location. Day 9: (CAB, RD, Motel) From Seisia we take the ferry to Thursday Island. TI is the administrative and commercial centre of the Torres Strait Islands set up in 1877. Since then TI has been a pearling centre and defence base during WWII. We tour the island and have our last night on the Island. Day 10: (CB) We transfer to Horn Island, next to Thursday
