Traveller Checklist Travelvax understands the importance of planning and preparing for your holiday. To help make your trip a little easier and a lot safer, we recommend the following travel tips.
Register with Smartraveller: Before you head overseas, make sure you register with the Australian Government’s Smartraveller website. This will enable contact to be made in an emergency situation and may also be used to provide you with updated information regarding travel advice, notice of elections and other relevant matters.
Destination check: Check the current security and health profile of your destination with Smartraveller.
Insurance: Make sure you have a travel insurance policy which covers theft, loss and medical costs.
Travel documents: Take photocopies of your passport and credit cards. Keep these in a separate place from the originals. Travel health: Check with Travelvax to ensure you have the correct travel vaccinations and preventative treatments for your destination. Mandatory vaccinations: Vaccinations may be required for entry into certain countries, or when returning to Australia. If they are, you will require an international vaccination certificate - these are available at Travelvax Clinics. Carrying medication: o Supply - if you require certain medication, ensure you take an adequate amount with you, as many products are not available overseas. o Documentation - a Medication Authority Form may also be needed to show authorities that you are carrying medication that has been prescribed or was recommended by a GP. These are available at all Travelvax Clinics. o Call the Medicare Infoline on 1800 500 147 if you are taking PBS medicines out of the country.
