Words from the Publisher
The 2016 riding season has come and gone. I’m very pleased with the response we’ve received and the opportunities I’ve had to meet people throughout the tri-state. The TriState has long needed a publication to bring together all bikers from all walks of life and help each other make the connections we all share on our rides.
couldn’t do it without all of you. Thank you for taking us with you and sharing with your fellow riders. The winter of 2016 is a great opportunity to experience our different advertisers. Head out and give each one a try this winter. When spring rolls around you’ll know exactly where you want to ride to first.
As always, keep the wheels down and chrome up.
Our publication is heading into our 3rd edition, the Holiday Issue. We’ve continued to grow the past 9 months and we Mac Webb | Leather N Chrome | Road Warrior | 812-686-7070 PAGE 3

FALL Review: Local Events
We have been blessed. We were blessed with great weather, longer than anticipated. Who would’ve thought, the end of October would bring us 80 degree weather!
As I took advantage of the great weather I noticed everyone else was doing the same! Pistons was able to extend the hosting of Buds HD Thunder on Franklin bike nights. While doing so, they were also host of some fundraising events for Stop Light City. Stop Light City is going to help build a premiere playground in the heart of the West Side. Evil Twins is still working on adding a new location in Dale Indiana. Currently they reside on Stockwell Rd. The additional location in Dale is a beautiful ride off HWY 62. Cruise in for their opening! Wayback Burgers continues operating at two convenient locations. Everyday burgers are served up and loaded down with your favorite toppings! As the weather cools and the bike gets put away hop in the car and drive on over.
Mystique Winery is beautiful this time of year! Their live music continued all Fall! The leaves changed the crowds rolled in and the wine stayed chilled! Stop in this winter to try some different wines and enjoy the scenery!
The bikes may be put up for a couple months but that doesn’t mean our sponsors close! Get out in the tri-state! Check our events page and social media pages for all the happenings! PAGE 7

8 TIPS FOR WINTER STORAGE Winterizing your bike is more than just throwing a cover over it or sticking it in a garage. The biggest enemy to your motorcycle in the winter is moisture. Moisture can wreak havoc on the fuel system as well as external and internal parts. The following is a to-do list to ensure your bike is ready to roll next spring. 1. You should start with a thorough cleaning and wax. Spraying WD40 on exposed metal parts works well too. 2. Change the Oil and Filter- If the bike’s not going to be started for 4 months or more, putting a little oil in the spark plug holes and turning the motor over will keep the cylinders and rings from corroding. 3. Lubricate the controls, cables and chain. 4. Prep the Fuel System- You’ll want to get some fuel stabilizer. (I prefer the marine type) Follow the instructions on the bottle. Fill the tank, and run the bike so the mixture gets completely through the system. 5. Installing a battery tender is a great idea. However, if your budget doesn’t allow this, you have other options. Remove the battery and place it on slow charge. Remove the battery once it’s fully charged. Continue this process once a month throughout the winter.
6. Inflate the Tires to Proper Pressure - It’s best to store your bike with the tires off the ground. If you can’t, then try to roll the bike once a week. 7. If your bike is water cooled, you need to check the coolant with an antifreeze or coolant tester. It should read -20 or below. If it doesn’t test to that level, you will need to add more antifreeze and run the bike for 15 to 20 minutes and recheck it. 8. Now you can cover your bike with a soft lined cover and tell her good-night until you see her again next spring. Keep the Wheels Rolling! He has been a certified motorcycle mechanic for Harley Davidson, Honda, Kawasaki, Polaris, Suzuki and Yamaha for the last 39 years.

My First Bike… As a kid I rode a 1977 Honda Trail Bike. As I got older, I got into high performance cars. I did that for a while but it got too expensive. I had a lot of friends with motorcycles and I would always hear them talk about how fun and relaxing it was to ride. I finally decided to purchase one. I didn’t want to spend a whole lot until I knew that riding was for me. I got a 2004 Suzuki Intruder Volusia 805cc. I fell in love with riding. It’s so therapeutic and exhilarating. I like to ride in groups with friends and experience the road and scenery like I’ve never experienced before. So far, I’ve put a Cobra Exhaust and Mustang seat on the bike. There is nothing like having your knees in the breeze. It’s much cheaper to ride all day than drive a car. Plus, to see the sights and smells, there’s nothing like it. -Justin Join us on Facebook!

ne thing most women struggle with when going for a ride is “motorcycle hair” or “helmet hair.” Here’s a couple hairstyles to help with those issues!
“HALF-UP HAIR TUCK”- This style is simple, easily done and perfect for wearing a helmet. Steps 1. Take a section of hair from the left, pull it to the right and secure with bobby pins. 2. Take a section of hair from the right and cross it over to the left. Tuck the hair under the piece of hair from the left and secure with bobby pins.
“BRAIDED PONY-TAIL”- This option is also a quick fix for riding and keeping the hair out of your face. It’s easily thrown together for those last minute rides. Steps 1. Blow-dry hair straight to make it easier to braid. Make a deep side part, then use a mixed bristle brush to smooth down frizz and fly-a-ways. 2. Start French-braiding a three-inch piece of hair at the full side of your part. Continue down your head. 3. Pull the rest of your hair into a low side ponytail, leaving a two-inch piece of hair (might need to be larger, depending on the thickness of your hair) outside of the ponytail. 4. Wrap the piece around the top of your ponytail, securing with a bobby-pin. 5. Spritz with hairspray for hold. PAGE 20
