What would you like to share with those considering relocation to Volusia County, specifically New Smyrna Beach and Edgewater? “In addition to having a world class beach and a charming small town vibe, New Smyrna Beach and Edgewater have so much more to offer,” shares McElroy. “From a thriving art community to both inshore and offshore saltwater fishing – add in plenty ‘one-of-akind’ restaurants and boutique shopping, it really is a great place to call home. There is a special event for just about everything, we have good schools, good healthcare and proximity to everything is also a bonus. Nothing is more than a 10-15 minute drive from home. Did I also mention that the weather is typically amazing?” What do you feel is special about Southeast Volusia? “A unique feature about New Smyrna Beach is it was a sleeper town and somewhat a secret for a long time,” states McElroy. “Other areas exploded with growth and urban sprawl while we somehow managed to preserve the small town charm. Today, we have a lot of individuals such as REALTORS®, government officials and citizens working really hard to be smart about how we grow in the future.” What should the consumer know about your members (Agents and Brokers)? “Our members are very passionate about their careers,” says Baker. “For each of them, it is not just ‘selling’ properties but being passionate with regard to advocating for homeowners, participating in their community and truly loving the events and activities that are held here.
