ain Street Washougal is a changing scene. In the past couple of years more than a dozen new businesses and several new buildings have sprung up and added a very doable small-town atmosphere. It’s a good place to walk, to shop and to do business.
The Town square complex at 1700 Main features underground parking and 13 businesses. The 50,000 square feet of usable space is equivalent to a whole city block, but is built in a sustainable and compact fashion which has earned a silver LEED certificate from the US Green Building Council.
The Town Square houses Washougal Sport and Spine, a physical therapy facility with wide, cheery windows facing Main; Wild Flour Cafe and Cupcake which offers cupcakes but also serves ice cream cones from a well stocked case, sandwiches and salads, in a bright and friendly atmosphere; The Hearth Restaurant where pizza, a happy hour menu, and special and regular menu choices are served after 4 pm. zest of one lemon, minced
3 cups milk
5 cloves garlic, minced
Grana (Parmesan Cheese) to taste

LAYER YOUR LIGHTING
Lighting is MAGICAL!!! Literally a few subtle changes to lighting and you can create whatever look you like; from a bigger room, to a longer/shorter room or a cozier room. Also, there are different types and uses for lighting. Ambient light for mood and direct light for reading while overhead/ceiling lights are for large gatherings or an overall light effect. Having layers of lighting is key and is the “secret sauce” of a well designed room.

7 USE COLORFUL ACCENTS
Too often we get stuck in ruts with our accessories. Be a mover and a shaker! Change out things that have been in the same spot for far too long and put them in a different room or trade with a friend. Maybe even donate to a thrift store or sell. Bringing in pops of color (from YOUR color Palette) with pillows, candles, throws and any number of different tchotchkies is a fun way to personalize your space. Scale is very important when choosing objects for a room as each item is “framed” by its surroundings. Group odd numbers of objects together to give a better impression of balance.

Craftsman- Think “Frank Lloyd Wright” and timeless
classics like mission and shaker door styles -using natural materials and square edges.
First thing that comes to mind: Simple, clean, natural, prairie, shaker, early 1900’s. Materials: Cherry, Alder, Maple, white paint, slate, soapstone, butcher block counters, farm house sink, two tone finishes.
Modern– Think sleek & chic with subtle slab doors,
