How to Turn Great wall hiking tour into Success There are some places in the world that everyone must visit at least once in their lifespan; The Great Wall is definitely one of them. The epitome of marvellous engineering, this wall stands tall and long, stretching over thousands of miles. Every since several sections of the wall were made available to the tourists, millions of people have flocked this great ancient wonder. Just a look at the wall and one knows why it is so revered. But, those who are planning to take a tour should keep a few things in mind. This will make sure that their hiking tour is a complete success. Here are some important things to note.

The different sections for hiking

Not all the sections are available to the public. This is why it is important to know which ones are so that the tourists are not stranded. Also, there are some sections which are easily accessible while there are others which require long trekking and hiking. Those interested in the great wall hiking tour Beijing will definitely want to visit the sections that are higher up. Here are the most popular sections:

-

Badaling: This was the first Great Wall section to be made available to the tourists. It is also said to be one of the most incredible sections of all. Badaling is the most

preserved section and is very easily accessible from Beijing city. The climb is very easy and safe with cableway and handrails. This is why it does not make for the great wall hiking tour Beijing.

-

Mutianyu: This is also one of the most popular sections of the wall and is also quite well preserved (though not as much as Badaling). It is the place for some really incredible sceneries and the view of the landscapes. It is not as much crowded as Badaling since it is steeper. But, it also means that it is less crowded even during the peak season. This is the reason why it is a great section to visit.

-

Jinshanling: This place is the host to some really impressive watchtowers. Also, the view from the wall is quite breathtaking. This section is a little higher up and thus a good option for those who are looking for simple treks and hikes. It is also a great place to take some really stunning pictures.

-

Simatai: Simatai is the section for the tourists who are looking for some adventure. Although the site has not been renovated much but it is preserved well. The place isn’t much frequented by the vacationers and hence it is quiet and calm. The climb could

be a little tough and those with little or no experience of steep trekking may find it very tiring. Elderly people should avoid the climb.

The Best Time to Visit

Different times of the year offer different sceneries. Therefore, just about any time of the year is perfect for the photographers as well as adventurers. However, the regular visitors who have come for a normal vacation may want to mind the season. For the vacationers, the best time is either spring or autumn. May and September are the perfect months for the visit. However, one can also visit early in October. During this time it is quite sunny and the temperature is more agreeable. Therefore, it is more refreshing and comfortable. Anytime between June and August is a little hotter, but surprisingly it is usually the peak visiting time. Visiting the wall between November and April is not a good idea because it gets extremely cold. Especially if one is travelling with kids or elderly people they must avoid this duration.

Things to Pack Clothing Items: The temperature could vary dramatically between night and day. Therefore, it is best to pack warm clothes along with the comfortable, casual ones. For the summers, loose T-shirts, denims, and trousers are good. However, one can be more comfortable in shorts during the day time. At night, warm clothes may be required. Therefore, it is best to pack the clothing to counter the cold. Trainer or sports shoes are best for the wall. High heel should be avoided.

Food and beverages: You may spend a few hours on the wall. So, take snacks and water along. Food items are available at Badaling section. At other sections they are not available.
