Red grabs focus and easily becomes the defining element of a space. Scarlet red or orange tones can make you feel energized and alive, while subtler shades of burgundy or maroon can evoke the cozy, insular vibe of an old fashioned space. So how do you decorate with red without going overboard?

Energetic, passionate and dominant, red is often assumed as one of the most powerful colours in the spectrum. Whether it’s lipstick or a full painted wall in a living room, the allure of red is undeniable. With all this appealing it’s only fitting that Scarlet Red is coming stronger next year as one of the top Trends in décor. Studies have shown that red increases brain activity and drives both physical stamina as well as a feeling of hunger making this colour ideal to use in a kitchen or a living room. Also Scarlet Red can be sexual and romantic, making it perfect to use in a bedroom. Did you know that red backgrounds increase the attractiveness and desirability of a person standing in front of it? As bold and captivating as it might be, this colour needs to be used carefully. Colour experts have also described red as such a stimulating shade that it has distracting effects that reach into our subconscious. This makes scarlet red not such a desirable colour to use in places where thoughtful work will be done as offices or working areas. Today red is seen as both traditional and trendy depending upon its use and if done right this colour mixes well with almost any colour scheme.

It’s easy to design a room around furniture in neutral shades, but decorating around brightly coloured elements may be a challenge. One way to decorate around scarlet red is to treat them as the focal point of the room, using plenty of neutral colour throughout the rest of the room to keep the red toned down. Scarlet red is such a high-impact colour, that furniture in this shade dominate the room. Avoid using other bold colours in the same room, as some colours create visual conflict and don’t make the mistake of filling the room with red décor as too much colour may overwhelm the space.

scarlet red Tan, beige, cream and gold are neutral colours that work well with scarlet red. Balance the scarlet red by repeating it in small degrees. The most correct way to make this is to use red within small dĂŠcor pieces and accents, such as throw pillows, wall art, flower vases, lamps, upholstery, draperies or other items. When using red as a wall colour choice, remember that red paint has the potential to make a room feel smaller. Not to mention, red is extremely intense and can dominate a room if overdone.

Bright red took hold on runways for this next season. Designers like Jason Wu embraced the returning trend of the business suit and it seems square shoulders are here to stay. The modern working women needs a combination of confort and sophistication that translates in exaggerated suit jackets and coats. Gucci and Dior provided more artful options with asymmetric and transparent long dresses with the use of floral patterns.

Light Pink is one of the hottest home hues at the moment. But it can be quite tricky to decorate with pink as it can easily go from feminine and chic to tacky and childlike. One of the best decorating tips to incorporate one of the sweetest shades of pink into a home decor project is to pair it with warm neutrals, natural elements, soft textures, and metallics. Start by adding accent pillows and, once you feel ready, move on to a bold piece of furniture that makes a statement in the room. 40 — colours

If you are feeling brave, green looks absolutely beautiful, creating an interesting contrast. Although this is a colour that will shape Fall/Winter 2018, we believe this hue will be loved by many all year round.

Golden Lime is a refreshing color that beautifully reflects the transition of the countryside foliage towards autumn. A strong green, Golden Lime is a warmer alternative to the khaki shades we saw dominating fashion and interiors last year.

8 7

golden lime Golden lime is probably one of the most exotic shades of the whole palette. A great alternative for the greenery that was the trend color of 2017, this color is just as lively and natural. Golden Lime is a color of abundance, richness and prosperity. If you want to create a modern style you can use a combination of neutral tones with the intense color of Lime as it works very well as an accent color in a minimalist home. With modern interiors opting for a stylish look that employ neutral colors such as grey and toned down browns along with black and white, accent colors become all the more essential. Green comes in such versatile hues and shades that the choices are abundant and at times even overwhelming. Neon greens are electric and warm greens like Golden Lime transmit a sense of life plus energy. With the color being such an integral part of nature, we also tend to accept it far more easily as part of our home than many other secondary shades. A balancing tone, which go very well with dark and heavier colors by enlivening them, Golden lime can bring a earthy touch to an room.

In many cases the difference between a bland home and one that seems inviting and warm is the addition of color in an elegant and delicate manner. Golden lime is one color that truly works well with tasteful contemporary backgrounds. Lime as an accent color in the living room is a bit rare. While using golden lime in the form of an accent wall is not all that common, there are other ways in which you can bring the color forward. Golden Lime will brighten and cheer up any room. If you wish to create an inimitable and cool bedroom think of mixing two accent colors using pillows or rugs.

golden lime Since some of the lighter tones of green are calming and create a peaceful ambiance, they are good choices for the bedroom and in kids rooms. Light pink with golden lime make up a very attractive combination and works well in these spaces. Stay away from the darker and brighter versions of the color when adding them to places of relaxation and rest. Remember that the more neutral a setting is, greater will be the impact of accent colors. Autumn maple and toast seem to work surprisingly well with hints of lime. It can also be paired with other neutral colors such as neutral gray.

Yellow and green were huge for spring, and they seem to be continuing onto the fall season as well with this color that is a mix between the two. Golden Lime can fit into the yellow collection as well, but in terms of greens it is quite the fresh hue. While the yellows have a warmer appeal though, this

particular combination is a golden alternative that is very contemporary. Golden Lime is elegant when paired with silks and satin materials. It is just neutral enough on its own and looks amazingly well on the Tory Burch and Alexander Mcqueen runway shows, among so many others.

maple autumn This spicy color can be a tricky shade to introduce at home so start by adding small appointments to your décor. Start small and, when you feel comfortable, work your way up. Autumn Maple can also look wonderful in a neutral color palette adding a touch of boldness. Use grey or even brown as your base color as it looks very sophisticated or mix orange and red if you’re feeling bold. Whatever color combination you end up choosing, the room will always radiate with the presence of Autumn Maple.

Neutral Gray is the color that pulls the Fall palette together. The undertone of this neutral hue is not particularly warm or cool which makes it an even more versatile shade to play with. It is safe, familiar and timeless. A classic that will never go out of fashion. The best part? It works wonderfully all year around. As a neutral, it can be used by itself, as an accent or as a base for any color combination. Because, just like Navy Peony, it is the anchoring shade of Fall 2017. Neutral Gray is not only loved in interior design but also in fashion. Many top fashion designers as Alexander Wang and Calvin Klein showed some love for this timeless color during Fashion Week. Because of its simplicity and elegance, Neutral Gray is a hue to keep in mind in the upcoming months. It is perfect for those who are not big fans of bold colors and have a soft spot for neutrals. Or it can simply be a way to tone down the bold colors. Which team do you belong to?

neutral gray Keep in mind that gray is a neutral so it might not be a great idea to pair it with beige. Instead, opt for one or the other. If you still want to use both colors, balance it with warmer shades as taupe or chocolate brown. Stepping out of the neutral palette, mix grey with bolder colors as orange or green to tone down the dĂŠcor and create an interesting contrast.

It means Shaded Spruce is a great color to start using in your home decor this Fall. A dark and sophisticated shade of green, Shaded Spruce goes a little bit further than the trendy emerald green. Its a nice transition to the fall and it will allow for all the green aficionados to make sure they can keep including this tone in their homes and wardrobe. If you like to experiment, take advantage of this season’s original deep colors such as Shaded Spruce or Tawny Port, another of our color choices for 2018. Fall is the time to start thinking about new projects and is also a time of thought and getting your ideas in order before getting back to work and your normal life. Spreading this green shade across your house will definitely help you to get that feeling, seeing as your house is your refuge and the place you seek comfort.

shaded spruce You can start by using Shaded Spruce in your walls. Whether you decide to paint them or use a mid-century inspired wallpaper, using this calm shade of green will immediately bring a sense of renewal and relaxation to your household. Use it in your actual furniture and go with other bold colors, such as scarlet red. In the classic style, Shaded Spruce will comprise a vibrant background for plants and antiques, however in combination with modern furniture or light colors, they will take on a bold, modern character. It works well with Green, Pink, and Black and will definitely add drama to any room or outfit it’s added to. Project by Brabbu

tawny port It might not look like it, but Tawny Port is actually a very versatile color. Plus, it looks great in any room, whether that is a living room or bedroom. When it comes to colors, golds and browns work wonderfully next to burgundy so keep those in mind when picking accessories. One of our favorite decorating tips is to pair burgundy with grey or any other light neutral as it tones down the color and makes the room look extra chic. This will help you avoid burgundy overkill and brightens up the room instead.
