Call to Order – Chair Lori Schuett called the meeting to order at 6 pm, conducted virtually through a zoom meeting. 34 eligible members were in attendance. All motions were made verbally, with voting conducted by raising hands. Secretary recorded the vote and announced if motion was carried. Meeting procedures – Links to the annual report and financial report were shared prior to the meeting along with a link in the zoom chat. Greetings – Municipality of Trent Hills Mayor Bob Crate brought greetings from the Municipality. Approval of AGM Minutes Motion: Moved by Janice Rabethge and seconded by Fern Julia to approve the minutes of the Annual General Meeting held on March 12, 2020. CARRIED. Chair’s Report – Lori identified the top priorities over the past year with communication being key with the challenges faced by the business community due to the pandemic. She provided an overview of the economic recovery activities conducted to date. Lori extended her appreciation to staff and board volunteers for their efforts and flexibility during these unprecedented times. Treasurer’s Report – Janice Rabethge introduced Nick Heersink to provide the Review Engagement Report from Welch LLP.
The report was more detailed than usual with the virtual format, no questions were received. Motion: Moved by Fern Julia and seconded by Lea Phillips to accept the Review Engagement year ending December 31, 2020 and waive an audit in lieu of a review engagement to be conducted by Welch LLP for the year ending December 31, 2021. CARRIED. Acclamation of Directors: Lori introduced honourary nominating chairs Brian and Cathy Redden to provide the nominating committee report and conduct the installation of directors. The following slate of officers was put forward for acclamation, terms noted in brackets: • Joanna Easby, Allen Insurance Group, (2) • Adrianne Towns, Village Paint and Paper, (2) • Dennis Savery, Ball Realty Ltd., (2) • Keri Gray, Shades of Gray Rabbitry and Indigenous Pet Treats, (2) • Dale Bateman, Let’s Get Social Canada, (1) • Sharon Hopkinson, The Hidden Treasure Chest Flea Market, (1) Motion: Moved by Mike Metcalf and seconded by Lea Phillips to acclaim the directors as presented. CARRIED. Adjournment: The meeting adjourned on a motion by Adrianne Towns at 6:55 p.m. Lori provided an update on what’s new and happening for 2022.
