HEY THERE! My name is Trevan. I grew up in the Pacific Northwest where I was encouraged to explore. I am fascinated with creating and experiencing new things. Soccer, skiing, travel, Legos, and family are a few of those things. Oh, and coffee!... Always coffee. Who knew I’d be pursuing creation as a career. My childhood self wouldn’t have believed it, yet here I am. I’d be honored to create something cool with you, and learn from you while doing it! Let’s talk!

HEX Children’s Furniture 3 Weeks Individual Project

CLIENT Brigid Collins is a family support center that works with a wide range of children. Their greatest needs were seating and tables for the kids. However, they had a very limited amount of space.

PROBLEM How can a single piece of furniture be constructed out of a 4’ x 4’ piece of plywood and accommodate kids ages 2 - 7?

SOLUTION A long, low piece of furniture whose function changes with orientation. By keeping it low to the ground, it brings everyone down to the same level. It becomes an equalizer between age groups encouraging interactions that were not present before.

URCHIN Sensory Play + Upcycle 6 weeks Collaboration

REMADE In the United States alone, 230 million tons of waste is generated each year. Industrial design students and design retailer, Ideal, annually collaborate on a design and production project using upcycled materials.

S E N S O RY P L AY An integral part of child development is sensory stimulation. In order to grow cognitively, socially, emotionally and physically, children’s imaginations need to be stimulated with openended, multi-purpose toys and play opportunities. The ball is one of the oldest toys in the world. Its various uses lend itself to collaborative and imaginative play. Urchin is a ball created from retired climbing rope and tennis balls.

OBJECTIVE Craft a new pizza experience for urban environments that draws on the SMEG ‘50’s Retro WStyle product line. This experience will capitalize on the spontanaeity and impulsiveness of the user by making pizza more accesible. Characteristics of the Uber taxi service will be infused with those of classic pizza delivery to create an experience that is fresh but familiar to urban occupants.

IDEATION The ideation process was driven by the shape of pizza, and the user experience.

MEET GUIDO Guido is a roving pizza delivery drone. Each drone carries ten pizzas of a single flavor and follows a route programmed by the operator. The graphics and colors applied to the ground based drone correlate with the type of pizza housed within.

Over the summer of 2015 I interned for SMr, an outdoor gear company committed to high quality products and social change. During my time there I worked with the team to develop a number of products that should be released in 2016. We made over twenty prototypes for each product, and conducted many tests to realize the final designs. Due to proprietary knowledge the full projects can’t be displayed at this time.
