Two Stages of Live Entertainment Coquitlam’s Canada Day is for music lovers of all ages. Sit back, relax or jump up and dance — however you want to celebrate, we’ve lined up music to entertain you all day long.
PLAZA STAGE
MEADOW STAGE
Canadian musicians will take to the Plaza Stage to captivate the whole family. Sing along to ‘O Canada’ with the Coastal Sound Children’s Choir at our opening ceremonies.
Kicking off our Canada Day celebrations is traditional Chinese dancing by the Tri-City Chinese Community Society, followed by Roma Gry a Vancouver-based gypsy performance troupe with a goal to bring the culture, music, and dance of the Romani people alive. Afterwards check out RupLoops who describes himself as an interdisciplinary artist, musician, producer and composer whose sound blends the rhythms of poetry and spoken word. Next up is The Myrtle Family Band, who promise to engage and delight audiences of all ages with their porch stompin’, wash-tub bass bouncing jug-time traditional jazz, twinkling-tap act. Closing out the day on the Meadow Stage is Soundtrack Canada who will offer a tribute to Canada’s finest singers and songwriters, including country, folk, pop, rock and everything else in between.
Later in the day, Mazacote, a hard-hitting west coast Latin dance band will play horn-driven New York salsa dura and beats from Colombia, Nicaragua and Puerto Rico. Following Mazacote is West Coast Canada’s band premiere professional taiko drumming group Uzume Taiko. After the drums, stay put for The Giggle Dam Band featuring iconic Canadian characters performing cover versions of well-known songs from the past and present. Wrapping up the day will be an amazing Battle of the Bands. Watch as Off The Record – Vancouver’s newest and brightest dance, gala event, wedding and corporate party band battles against The Ticket, an eight piece band with five lead singers and one occasional rapper. This unique event is sure to be entertaining for the whole family! Plaza Stage sponsored by TD Bank
