Try it, Learn it

… Live it

Winter is on its way with cooler weather and shorter days. Warm up your winter at one of our recreation facilities. Use your ONE PASS to drop into the pool for a swim or a steam, head to the gym for a workout or a yoga class—the options are endless! And this winter, our ONE PASS is more valuable than ever—we’ve added more drop-in fitness classes to make sure there is a class to suit everyone’s fitness goals, interests, and schedule. The change of season also brings the perfect opportunity to try something new—especially if you are 50 or better. The 55+ BC Games are coming to Coquitlam, September 20 – 24, 2016 and to celebrate, the City will be offering free ‘Try-it’ programs throughout the year. Why not give golf, swimming, curling, or track and field a try? Visit coquitlam.ca/55PlusBCGames for details. 2016 also marks Coquitlam’s 125th anniversary. I hope you’ll join City Council and staff to celebrate our community’s rich history and set the stage for a dynamic future. We have tons of events planned throughout 2016 to mark this special occasion—from a kick-off event on January 2, to a historical summer picnic and a grand finale in November—not to mention 125 block parties, an arts festival, sporting events and much more throughout the year—there will be opportunities for people of all ages and interests to come together and celebrate what makes our city and our people great. Visit coquitlam125.ca to find out more about Coquitlam 125, including a full calendar of upcoming events and how to get involved. Richard Stewart
