Summer in the City Take it Outd Outdoors! s!
No need to leave town for a vacation this summer, Coquitlam has activities and special events for all interests and all ages!
ADVENTURE PLAYGROUND JULY 2 – AUG. 30 (Presented by Canadian Tire’s locally-owned stores)
KALEIDOSCOPE ARTS FESTIVAL SATURDAY, AUG. 10, 2 – 9 P.M. (Presented by Kia West)
This hands-on outdoor play space is all about unstructured play for kids ages three to 12. Don’t expect play equipment like fixed swings and slides, instead kids let their imaginations run wild with planks of wood, hammers, nails, tires, tarps and more. Located in a shaded, forested space off Town Centre Boulevard in City Centre (just a short walk from the Lafarge Lake-Douglas SkyTrain station), caregivers can keep an eye from outside the area while children build and create. (Note: Parents must remain on site; this is not a drop-off activity.) coquitlam.ca/adventureplayground
Indie artists Current Swell, Royal Canoe and Terra Lightfoot will perform at Kaleidoscope, an action-packed free arts and music festival overlooking scenic Lafarge Lake. Jam to DJ tracks, try your hand at the arts, browse unique handcrafted wares, enjoy delicious food truck fare, and just chill out. With a cool vibe, plenty to explore and a site-wide liquor license, Kaleidoscope will feel like an urban street festival, with one exception – the beautiful lakeside setting. coquitlam.ca/kaleidoscope
Hours of Operation » Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays: 10:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. » Wednesdays: 1 – 6 p.m. » Saturdays: 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. » Closed on Sundays: statutory holidays.
SUMMER CONCERT SERIES (Presented by Coquitlam Centre / Morguard) Voted “Outdoor Concert of the Year” in 2018 by Tri-Cities residents, Coquitlam’s Summer Concert Series is back again at TD Community Plaza in Town Centre Park. Grab your friends, family or a date and enjoy a homemade picnic or meal purchased from an on-site food truck. coquitlam.ca/summerconcerts » Friday, July 12 – Rock Night with Oliver & the Elements and Quickness » Friday, August 2 – Pop Night with Emma Currie and Trilojay » Friday, Sept. 6 – R n’ B Night with Tonye Aganaba and R & B Allstars
