Birthday FAQ’s
Frequently Asked Questions: May I request a specific party leader? Staff are assigned regular birthday party shifts at specific locations, so we do not accept requests for individual leaders. Is there a limit to the number of people who can attend? 16 children maximum including little ones on the move and the birthday child! (unless otherwise noted). Parents may be in the room to assist young children, but food and party activities are for the party participants only. Can parties be for multiple children at one time? We limit parties to one child (or two children in the same family). How long are the parties? Most parties are 2 hours in length, plus 30 minutes of set-up prior to the start time to prepare for your guests and 15 minutes for cleanup. Can we stay longer than the allotted time? Time extensions and multiple party bookings will not be accepted. What should I bring to the party? Please bring the following items to your party: food, beverages, plates, napkins, cutlery and tablecloths for 6’ rectangle tables (4 recommended) and goody bags (optional).

Instructor Profile Monique has been in the fitness industry since 1995 when she started her passion for teaching with step classes. As the fitness industry evolved, so did Monique’s ability to teach a variety of classes from cardio kick box, spinning, and boot camp. In 2009 Monique realized it was time to explore a kinder, gentler way of challenging herself physically. She took the 200 hour Yoga teacher training course and fell completely in love. Yoga has helped her realize that it is not just about challenging yourself physically. The term “wellness” comes to mind when describing her love for yoga because it includes the mental and emotional component of health. Monique has been with the City since 2008 and feels blessed to be working with such an amazing group of supportive, professional and caring people. She currently teaches spin, power yoga, hatha yoga and has recently added Barre to her growing repertoire of certifications.
“I feel a deep connection with all of my class participants and do my best to ensure they have a positive, fun experience. Even when they’re being challenged” – Monique

Seniors NEW SFU Seminar Series Do Novels About Old Age Matter? The philosopher Solon, one of the ‘seven wise men’ of ancient Greece, claimed that ‘as I grow old I’m always learning more.’ Now that Canada has more people over the age of 65 than under the age of 15, it is time to have another look at how we continue to grow and learn into deep old age. Join us in this seminar to review historical and modern approaches to aging and development by exploring novels written by three authors aged 75 and older: Jane Gardam, Penelope Lively, and Paul Bailey. Facilitator: Margaret Easton 64704 Wednesday, Jan.18 & 25 1:00-3:00pm Recreation Complex $4.50/2 sessions
NEW SFU Seminar Series Darwin’s Lasting Impact Charles Darwin’s theory of evolution has had a monumental impact on modernity.
