THE 39 STEPS A Hilarious Comedy adapted by Patrick Barlow, from the novel by John Buchan, from the movie of Alfred Hitchcock

Richard Hannay is bored. Annabelle Schmidt is a beautiful secret agent with a mysterious accent. He takes her home, but she ends up murdered, and suddenly he is on the run from a foreign power called “The 39 Steps.� A plane crash, hand cuffs, missing fingers and more than a little old-fashioned romance spill across the stage as Richard searches for answers. Part Hitchcock movie, part classic spy novel and 100% love song to the magic of the theater, this fast-paced farce features a cast of four portraying more than 150 characters.

Frankie is a 12-year old tomboy tired of her small Georgia town and longing for a world of adventure and romance. Despite forming a fragile bond with Bernice, a maid, and John Henry, her seven-year old cousin, Frankie dreams of running away with her brother and his new bride. From one of the South’s most daring writers comes this acclaimed portrait of a girl desperate for a place to belong.

Snow Queen A Winter Adventure by Preston Lane with original music by Laurelyn Dossett Inspired by THE SNOW QUEEN by Hans Christian Andersen

When a young boy disappears on a winter’s day in the heart of Appalachia, his best friend sets out to bring him home. So begins a journey through snow and ice, leaving the everyday world behind, as a magical winter time path leads deeper into a frozen kingdom. Inspired by the classic Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale, this adventure for audiences of all ages transports the story to the highest peaks of the Blue Ridge. From the creators of Brother Wolf, Beautiful Star, Bloody Blackbeard and Providence Gap, Snow Queen weaves music, magic and make-believe to celebrate the courage of a brave young girl.

DIRTY BLONDE A Love Story with Music by Claudia Shear. original score by Bob Stillman

Jo is an aspiring actress. Charlie works in the film archives of the New York Public Library. Mae West was a sex symbol, a playwright, a movie star and a woman ahead of her time. Weaving together the historical story of Mae West with the tale of two present day fans, Dirty Blonde is a journey from vaudeville to Hollywood with all the romance, sexual innuendo, fabulous costumes and music from her classic films. As Mae West once said, “too much of a good thing can be wonderful.”

Crimes of the Heart A Southern Comedy by Beth Henley

In Hazlehurst, Mississippi, the MaGrath sisters are brought together for a reunion. The occasion? Old Granddaddy is sick again. Lenny, the oldest, faces diminishing marital prospects. Meg, who couldn’t wait to leave Hazlehurst, is back after a failed singing career. And to top off the list of misfortunes, Babe, the youngest, has shot her husband. Their troubles, so serious and yet so funny, are trivial compared to the love and devotion of a family struggling with the past and yearning for a future. Common Enemy A World Premiere Drama by Preston Lane

A season of remarkable upset victories sends NC’s Zebulon College to the NCAA basketball tournament for the first time. In the grip of March Madness the campus reels as an assistant professor threatens the school’s athletic program. In a state where college basketball is almost a religion and team rivalries stretch back for generations, the explosive study pits faculty against administration, student against teacher, and husbands against wives. Majority views threaten strong convictions as the courage to speak up comes under relentless attack.
