This is the transfer of funds and ownership. A title company or an attorney acts as an independent third party to facilitate the closing.

You will be finalizing your loan, reviewing documents, and discussing the finding from the inspection. Your agent will be managing this entire process for you.

Perform due diligence, order the appraisal, conduct an inspection, & review terms with the lender.

Discuss the type of property you are looking for, including style, price, & location.

You will need pay stubs, W2s, & bank statements. Knowing what you can afford is critical to a successful home shopping experience.

You and the Seller have agreed to the price & terms. The property is effectively held for you until closing.

In most cases the contract provides you with a timeline to obtain financing, as well as a time to inspect the physical condition of the property. Your real estate professional will inform you of all your rights and responsibilities related to the contract

As a property buyer, your agent’s commission is paid by the seller in almost all circumstances. This means your representation costs you nothing!

The fun part! Your agent will schedule showings & help you find the perfect property.

It may take a few tries to get it just right, but hang in there... you’re on your way!

Your agent will prepare the offer based on the price & terms you choose.

Do you work full-time or part-time as a realestate agent? How many transactions did you close last year? The year prior?

Question 3 Hint: Experience & education typically make for better agents. (It also doesn’t hurt to ask if they own their own home.)

How many years of education & experience do you have? What percentage of your clients are buyers (vs. sellers)? In which areas / neighborhoods do you primarily work? How many other buyers/sellers are you representing right now?

Question 6 Hint: The busiest agents are often the most efficient.

Is your license in good standing?

Will you handle all aspects of my transaction? Question 8 Hint: Whether solo or on a team, you want to make sure you can connect with your agent regularly.

Are you also a broker in addition to being a Realtor and/or agent? Could you provide me with names & phone numbers of past clients who agreed to be references?
