We Read is a partnership between the Casper Star-Tribune, the Natrona County School District and the Natrona County Public Library, supported by local businesses and foundations. Its aim is to promote and support literacy as a community-wide value and reading as an important, multi-age, mentoring activity. The overall goal mirrors NCSD’s #1 goal — to have students K-3 reading at or above grade level by the end of the third grade. “My Trib” is NCSD's Goal to increase the percentage of students proficient in Reading, Writing, Listening, Speaking and Language. published weekly by the Casper Star-Tribune as part of the We Read program.

1, 2, JUST FOR YOU!

I see one rainbow. Use a pencil or crayon to trace the number 1 as well as the letters o-n-e, which spell the word one. Now grab your crayons and color in the rainbow.

3, 4, ASK FOR MORE!

Coloring is a great way for children to build the fine motor skills needed to be able to write in school. If you don’t have a coloring sheet, let your child draw on the back of paper you were planning to throw away. Add a date at the bottom and hang your child’s work of art to admire as well as mark their accomplishments. ACTION RHYME: “ONE POTATO”

One potato, two potatoes (make your hands into fists and stack them on top of each other as you count)

Three potatoes, four! Five potatoes, six potatoes

Seven potatoes, MORE! (Shout “MORE”)
