TRIBE NEWS & NOTES

- W&M and Drexel met last season when the Tribe won 69-53 at Kaplan Arena. In the last matchup against Drexel, graduate student Sydney Wagner scored 22 points on 9-of-14 shooting. While junior Bre Bellamy scored 19 points and six rebounds. - In its most recent match-up the Tribe fell short to Delaware 70-56 Friday night at Kaplan Arena. Sydney Wagner was on fire last night with a season-high 29 points on 12-of-23 shooting and seven rebounds. Overall the Green and Gold shot 41%, 8-of-19 from the 3-point arc. Graduate student Kate Sramac led the team with 10 rebounds, Wagner (7), junior Bre Bellamy (7), and sophomore Kayla Beckwith added four. -Sydney Wagner remains the most prolific scorer on the Tribe. Friday night Wagner played a full 40 minutes for the third consecutive time, scored a season-high of 29 points, seven rebounds, three steals, one block, and an assist. The Phoenixville, Pa., native is averaging 12.8 points, 3.8 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and shooting an impressive 91.7% from the charity stripe. Wagner dominates among the league leaders at seventh in assist (5.3%), fifth in steals (2.3%), and fourth in 3 point field goals made (2.2%). - Graduate student Riley Casey has shown to be a force for the Tribe. The Brentwood, Tenn. native has led the Tribe in scoring, averaging 13.5 points per game, while she is also among the league leaders in 3-point % (39.8). Her seven 3-pointers vs. Charleston (1/16/22) were tied for the 2nd most in W&M history. - Bre Bellamy has been one of Swanson’s most consistent and go-to players this season. Friday night Bellamy scored 8 points and seven rebounds. Bellamy leads the Green and Gold in blocks per game and is second in rebounds averaging 5.5per game. - William & Mary ranks in the top half of the CAA averaging 14.0 assists per contest. Sydney Wagner is ranked 7th in the league with 3.1 assists per game. - The Tribe has been one of the most ferocious three-point defenses in Division I this season, ranking 50 in the nation, holding opponents to 26% from the line. William & Mary ranks second in team three-point field goal percentage 31.9%. On seven separate occasions this season, the Tribe has held the opposition to below 20% from the three-point line. - The Tribe has been impressive from the free-throw line this season, ranking third in the CAA. On seven separate occasions this year, the Tribe has knocked down at least 10 free throws and the team has shot over 80% five times. Individually, Sydney Wagner, Kate Sramac, Riley Casey, Ava Stevenson, Ruthie Montella, and Madison Magee all are shooting over 75% on the year. - The Tribe has held three opponents to 50 points or less so far this season, winning each of those three games. Under head coach Ed Swanson, the Tribe has held opponents to under 50 points in 29 games and are 28-1 in those contests. - W&M head coach Ed Swanson enjoyed a noteworthy 2019-20 season individually. He was named the CAA Co-Coach of the Year following the Tribe's historic season. Swanson won his 500th career game on Nov. 26, became just the third coach in W&M history to win 100 games with the Tribe on Jan. 12, and was inducted into the Northeast Conference Hall of Fame in January.
