TRIBE NEWS & NOTES - In the last match-up between W&M and Northeastern, Northeastern won 67-57 at Matthews Arena. Riley Casey led the tribe with 15 points on 6-of13 shooting, 3-of-9 behind the 3-point arc. Bre Bellamy added 11 points and four rebounds. While Wagner finished with 10 points. - The Green and Gold are coming off back-to-back wins against UNCW. The Tribe won 69-59 against the Seahawk's at Kaplan Arena Wednesday. Sydney Wagner led the way with 21 points and four assists. Graduate student Sramac stuffed the stat sheet with a season-high 13 points, eight rebounds, and five assists in 39 minutes. Freshman Dani McTeer scored eight points and a career-high with nine rebounds. While Kayla Beckwith scored a career-high of 10 points and two rebounds. - Casey has shown to be a force for the Green and Gold this season. In the Tribe's match-up against UNCW Casey scored 9 points, six assists, and two. The Brentwood, Tenn. native has led the Tribe in scoring, averaging 15.4 points per game, while she is also among the league leaders ranking number one in 3-point % (41.4), first in 3-point FG made (3.1), and eighth in scoring (15.4). - Wagner has been sensational averaging 13.2 points per game, 3.9 rebounds, with 3.1 assists per game, and is shooting 88.6% from the charity stripe. In the Tribe's win on Friday, Wagner led the team with 21 points and 4 rebounds. Most recently the Phoenixville, Pa., native reached 1,000 career points in the Tribe's win against UNCW Feb., 13. - Bre Bellamy has been one of Swanson's most consistent and go-to players this season. Bellamy leads the Green and Gold in blocks per game and is second in rebounds averaging 5.5 per game. - McTeer has shown to be a force for the Tribe. On Friday she scored a season-high of 9 rebounds and 8 points, just a bucket and a rebound short of a double-double. McTeer averages 7.1 points per game, 4.6 rebounds, and averages 25 minutes per game. -Beckwith has been pivotal in conference play shooting 58% FG averaging 17 minutes a game. In the Tribe's most recent match-up, Beckwith scored a career-high of 13 points two rebounds, a block, and a steal. - The Tribe has been one of the most ferocious three-point defenses in Division I this season. William & Mary leads the CAA in three-pointers per game (6.9) and is first in team three-point field goal percentage 32%. On eight separate occasions this season, the Tribe has held the opposition to below 21% from the three-point line. - The Tribe has held three opponents to 50 points or fewer this season, winning each of those three games. Under head coach Ed Swanson, the Tribe has held opponents to under 50 points in 29 games and are 28-1 in those contests. - W&M head coach Ed Swanson enjoyed a noteworthy 2019-20 season individually. He was named the CAA Co-Coach of the Year following the Tribe's historic season. Swanson won his 500th career game on Nov. 26, became just the third coach in W&M history to win 100 games with the Tribe on Jan. 12, and was inducted into the Northeast Conference Hall of Fame in January.
