National Lifeguard (NL) & Oxygen Administration

Recognized as the standard for lifeguards in Canada, NL training develops a sound understanding of lifeguarding principles, good judgment, and a mature and responsible attitude toward the role of the lifeguard. Prerequisites: Bronze Cross, current Intermediate First Aid (IFA or AEC), 15 years of age.

National Lifeguard (NL) & Intermediate First Aid (IFA) & Oxygen Administration (O2) Recertification

Includes CPR/AED/O2 recertification. Prerequisites: Proof of current NL and Intermediate First Aid.

AFLCA Foundations in Physical Activity & Exercise

$280 members/$299 non-members

A minimum 24 hour course covering basic fitness principles and a variety of activity experiences. Course topics include: anatomy, physiology, movement mechanics, training and conditioning, nutrition, leadership and health and fitness. The Exercise Theory course is the prerequisite to all specialization courses.

Prerequisites: 16 years of age or older

AFLCA Aquatic Exercise Specialization

$294 members/$315 non-members

A minimum 20 hour course covering topics specific to leading classes in water. Topics covered include: use of equipment, pool organization, principles of water, effects on body movement, safety in the water environment, use of music, and special populations.
