Our Sponsors play a big part in allowing us to run our teams. In these times of uncertainty, You can show your support by using their services.

Grass Roots Talk How the world has changed since our last game. A good win against Wembley, a side which had beaten us in the away fixture before we decided to make some changes to the clubs ethos. We thought those changes were radical, little did we know what lay ahead.

We now know that the season has been called to a halt and we start again next season.as we were. No promotion, relegation or changes to leagues. Well that is subject to FA ratification. We commiserate with all the teams who budgeted to get promotion and all the effort put in by the managers, players and committees to get them into a position to do this. Our first team still sat in second place and with teams dropping points were still in with a shout for a play off place. Also Cliff, Trevor and the players in our under 18 side who have been top of the league all season and looked favourites to win the title. We are still deciding how many sides we will be running next season. Financial restraints may mean we drop one or two possibly two of our sides but the remaining ones will be locally based as we have pledged to do. We have managed to carry out the work required to keep our ground

Grading and you will notice a new walkway past the tree at the Rugby end. Can we request that this is used as a walkway and not a raised viewing point. A special mention to all of our sponsors at this difficult time. They have all stood by our decisions and we ask that you support them if needing one of the services they provide. Whether that be electrical work with NP Electrics Leasing a car from Greenfleets , taking advantage of an office close to home with The Home Office or being in need of a a solicitor with Machins. We will bring you more updates in the coming weeks. Stay safe and we will see you all when this thing is over. In the meantime inside there are a couple of quizzes to keep you amused.

A look back on our past

The 1999/2000 season proved to be one to remember. During the summer we spent over ?50k on building new changing rooms and extending the social and bar area. That meant a total of over ÂŁ90k had been spent on improving the facilities at Miswell Lane since 1993. To mark the opening of the new changing rooms we played a Watford XI in front of a huge crowd of about 1,000 people. The game was Refereed by Graham Poll and Graham Barber. We also expanded on the playing side with a third team being set up to particularly attract young players, a veterans side for explayers and a Ladies side. The season turned out to be the most successful in the Club's history. In addition to winning the Senior Division title by 11 points we also reached 5 finals. We won the Herts Charity Shield (beating Potters Bar Town 2-1), Herts Senior Centenary Trophy (Wormley Rovers 2-0) and the Cherry Red Books Trophy in its inaugural year (Bedmond Sports & Social on penalties after a 1-1 draw). We were narrowly beaten 1-0 by Letchworth in the Senior Division Cup and although we also reached the St Marys Cup final it was never played because of the backlog of fixtures. Our achievements were recognised by the South Midlands who awarded us the Houghton Regis Cup for achievements in outside competitions and Mick Eldridge, Ray Brimson and Richard Vincent were voted Managers of the Season. In 60 games in all competitions we lost on only 6 occasions, a remarkable achievement. Our other teams also enjoyed success with the Reserves reaching the Final of the Herts Intermediate Cup and the A Team in their first season finishing runners up in the West Herts Division 3.
