CURRICULUM

Enrollment in honors/AP is determined by the academic department and requires a B+ minimum grade in prerequisite courses for AP placement. Students do not generally take AP courses until their junior year. CLASS RANK— Student rank is not computed because of our highly selective admission, small class size, and demanding curriculum. We believe a cumulative ranking system based on raw or weighted grades is arbitrary and may not fairly represent a student’s relative achievement. REPORTING POLICY FOR ACADEMIC OR BEHAVIORAL MISCONDUCT— Serious student misconduct in grades 10 to 12 involving physical or psychological harm, matters of integrity, or unlawful activity that results in suspension of two or more days, probation, or expulsion is reported. All other disciplinary issues remain confidential.

(MSON)

The Malone Schools Online Network (MSON) is a consortium of 22 independent schools, including Stanford’s Online High School, that offer synchronous classes across the country. The MSON courses are available to students who have exhausted curricular offerings in a particular subject area (e.g., organic chemistry) or who want to pursue a new subject area (e.g., Arabic). For a full list of MSON course offerings and yearly availability, please go to: maloneschoolsonline.org/our-courses/.

PHILOSOPHY he college counseling process is more than a means to an end. The process in which we engage students helps to equip them with T those qualities that make learning happen as part of everyday life. We guide students in introspection and goal setting to help them identify and hone areas of academic strength, core values that guide their lives, and possible long-term academic and career goals. During the college research and application processes, we strive to counsel students and families to conduct authentic college searches aimed at finding colleges that meet each student’s and family’s varied needs.
