We believe that the greatest gift we can give our family and the world is a healthy Individual.

Gift a Smile 45-day-old Anusha was a bright girl with beautiful eyes. But to others in her village she was an outcast and cursed because she was born with a cleft lip and cleft palate that left her nose, mouth and teeth disfigured. Cleft lip and Cleft palate, especially in children go way beyond the realm of medical need. Apart from causing difficulties in breathing, eating and speaking, the greatest discomfort these children face is often cruel ridicule for their appearance and at times ostracization from society. At Trinity Care Foundation we believe in the future of our children – charity is just one of the many avenues we use to make the joy visible through the smiles of our nation’s children.

BEFORE

A corrective surgery has changed the life of Anusha and now she mingles with other kids and can lead a normal life. There are millions like Anusha who are waiting for their surgery. Join us. Let us together gift smiles to each of those. AFTER

Generally, it is seen that most of the students in the school suffer from many preventable diseases such as dental caries (decay of tooth), bad sight, deafness, anemia etc. But such diseases adversely affect the learning capacity of the students and cause ill health. Objectives of school health 1. The promotion of positive health. 2. The prevention of diseases. 3. Early detection and management of 4Ds- Defects at Birth, Diseases in Children, Deficiency Conditions and Developmental Delays including Disabilities. 4. Awakening health consciousness in children.

Outreach Health Program

Safe drinking water Project

Providing safe drinking water to students and villagers by installing RO Water plants in Govt. schools, out of 30 districts in Karnataka, 29 districts groundwater is unfit for drinking purposes. Information contained in reports prepared by the Central Ground Water Board and Ground Water Directorate, Karnataka pertaining to chemical concentration in groundwater in the state, the reports indicate that concentration of harmful chemicals such as nitrate, fluoride, arsenic is beyond permissible limits in 22 of Karnataka's 30 districts, including Bengaluru Urban and Bengaluru Rural. Concentration of nitrate, fluoride and iron was found to be above permissible limits in many as 16 districts was reported in TOI. Reverse Osmosis (RO) This is basically filtration at molecular level. Mechanical pressure is applied to an impure solution to force pure water through a semipermeable membrane, it is reverse because under normal osmosis, pure water moves into the contaminated water without any pressure. RO is theoretically the most thorough method of large scale water purification available, although perfect semi-permeable membranes are difficult to create. RO Water systems will be installed in Govt. Schools so that the children will have access to clean drinking water, ensuring they do not fall victims to diseases and other related health issues.

Community outreach programs is an important vehicle for reducing the discovery-delivery disconnect by bring health education and health screening services directly to community members. Such programs are consistent with the priority areas of Trinity Care Foundation initiatives for reducing health disparities. Outreach programs are important tools for bringing health education and screening services directly to community members and serve to contribute to reducing health disparities. They assist communities and hospitals to reach mutually beneficial goals that would otherwise not be achievable for promoting accessible and equitable care. Many developers of outreach programs are not aware of their audiences' literacy level as well as the major culture norms and boundaries that support or impede community members' behaviors relating to screening, early detection and prevention. Trinity Care Foundation conducts outreach health programs in Karnataka State with existing healthcare systems to provide better services to the underserved populations with the support of corporates and individuals.

Computer Literacy Programme

In today’s world, the knowledge of computer software or hardware is a basic necessity for a lot of jobs. By making students from underprivileged sections of the society computer literate will mean making them competent and better suited for today’s job market or pursue higher studies. This will also improve their prospects of getting a better job. We can therefore safely conclude- lack of basic computer skills can certainly be looked upon as a hindrance to an individual’s development. It was really unfortunate to see these well-deserving students from Govt. schools not having a basic idea of computers, simply because they have never used computers.

Objective of Computer Literacy Programme Improve students competencies through School Computer Education sessions focusing on Basic Computer Literacy. To provide basic knowledge of using computers to students who come from rural and economically weaker sections of the society, thereby enhancing the overall quality of education by providing adequate resources, including quality teaching staff and materials. Specific Objectives Ÿ Ÿ

Adolescent School Health Education Programme WHO defines “Adolescence” as the time period between 10 and 19 years of life characterized by critical physical and psychological changes leading to adulthood. This age group requires adequate nutrition, education, counselling and guidance to ensure their development into healthy adults. India has a population of over 1 billion. Adolescents form 22% (225 million) of the population, of which 47% are females. The School health education programme will provide age appropriate, uniform skilled advice on nutrition, prevention of anemia, hygiene (menstrual), problems of growing years, career counseling to school girls and for older girl’s sessions on avoiding RTI/STIs. Objective of school health education programme will be to Impart knowledge to adolescent girls in low- and middle-income age groups (1) about menstruation and how prepared are they for reaching menarche, (2) who are their sources of information regarding menstruation, (3) how well do the adults around them respond to their information needs, (4) what negative health and social effects do adolescents experience as a result of menstruation, and (5) how do adolescents respond when they experience these negative effects and what practices do they develop as a result?

Corporate Social Responsibility/CSR

CSR has been defined by the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (2000) as “The continuing commitment by business to behave ethically and contributes to economic social development while improving the quality of the life of the workforce and their families as well as the local community and society at large. Corporate Social responsibility (CSR) has acquired new dimensions in the recent years. Today, companies are proactively taking up this good hearted investment and giving a social value to all their business endeavors.

In India, though corporates have a strong will to dedicate their resources for a social cause, they find it difficult to reach the right people considering the demography and diverse social problems of the country. We thus join hand with the corporates to help them advance their welfare initiatives to the needy families and save on their time and human resources. We help the corporates meet their Corporate Social Responsibility targets. Preventive healthcare is an important dimension of health that needs significant attention and investment from all sections of society. It is a national health priority and a notified area under Schedule VII of the CSR section 135 of the Companies Act. Preventive healthcare directly improves health, wellbeing and productivity of community /population, families and individuals, and promotes equality by benefiting most the disadvantaged and marginalized groups it covers range of public health activities focused on prevention of diseases, promotion of good health and strengthening of health systems.

CSR partnership To help meet your Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) goals, Trinity Care Foundation can create specific project proposals for your organization. Partner organizations could fund surgeries of, say,50 underprivileged children suffering from cleft lip and Cleft palate, conduct a school health program for students in Government schools or conduct an outreach health programs in a backward a rea. Such projects will make CSR contribution targeted, making them simple to execute as turnkey CSR projects. 'Promoting healthcare 'is an area identified under schedule VII of the companies Act 2014 that is eligible to receive CSR funding either directly or through an implementing agency that has a track record. Trinity Care Foundation has been actively supporting critical community health from 2007 onward, hence meets these requirements.
