Strategic Vision

2024-30

Mission Statement

Trinity Christian Academy is an independent coeducational school, which offers Christian families and their children a demanding, college preparatory curriculum within a Christian community committed to integrating Biblical faith and learning. The school desires to educate and develop the whole person for the glory of God by helping equip each student to grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ and to become a faithful disciple of Him.

Passion Statement

Our passion is to bring all students into a personal, growing relationship with Jesus Christ while equipping them to do with excellence all that God has called them to do.

Introduction

The Trinity Christian Academy trustees and head of school have spent the past two years developing a strategic vision for 2024-30. This strategic vision was informed by insights from trusted experts, feedback from our 2022 Council on Educational Standards and Accountability (CESA) institutional review, comments from internal surveys and conversations with faculty, staff, alumni and other stakeholders.

This strategic vision outlines how Trinity Christian Academy will move forward for the rest of this decade, identifying areas of focus and ways in which the school can improve as we live out our mission. Achieving these goals will be possible only through the continued commitment and support of the full TCA community.

The 2024-30 strategic vision covers initiatives in six areas:

• Spiritual Formation

• Distinct Faculty & Staff

• Academic Excellence

• Athletics & Fine Arts

• Key Resources

• Close-Knit Community

Spiritual Formation

Everything we do at TCA is inspired by the gospel and informed by a gospelcentered, biblical worldview. Our educational philosophy, curriculum, values and actions are grounded in the principles and truths revealed in the Bible. Students are encouraged to develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ while being equipped to do, with a very high level of excellence, exactly what God has called them to do. We aim to strengthen the spiritual foundation of our school community, deepen the partnership between home and school, and empower families to raise children who are firmly rooted in their faith and equipped to impact the world for Christ.

Goals

1. Cultivate a gospel-centered, biblical worldview in faculty, staff and students.

2. Provide opportunities and resources for faculty, staff, students and families to live in community and to impact the world for Christ.

Distinct Faculty & Staff

Our faculty and staff are what make TCA the place that it is. They are talented, caring professionals who view education as a calling. Because they connect with the students in multiple ways, our faculty and staff know where our students shine and where they can improve, ultimately helping students navigate the challenges of their young lives so they can succeed in life after TCA. Finding and developing these educators is key to everything we do. TCA will continue to focus on recruiting, hiring, supporting and retaining exceptional Christian faculty and staff who are committed to living out our mission.

Goals

1. Evaluate and improve how TCA attracts, develops and retains top-tier talent and recognizes performance, dedication and commitment to the school’s mission.

2. Promote the professional growth of the faculty and staff.

Academic Excellence

Academic excellence has been central to the TCA experience since the school’s founding in 1970. TCA provides a challenging and engaging academic program that balances traditional and innovative practices and experiences, exemplifying the best in education and producing graduates ready to thrive in college and beyond. We are driven to provide educational programs that work best for students, a curriculum that builds their abilities to think and communicate creatively and critically, and a day-today experience that best serves their current and future well-being.

Goals

1. Focus our energy and resources on teaching and learning excellence.

2. Revise the academic calendar and schedule to ensure it fosters student well-being, community across divisions and meets the objectives of this plan.

3. Craft a comprehensive curriculum scope and sequence across grade levels, departments and divisions.

4. Enhance the culture of intellectual curiosity.

5. Evaluate the college counseling process so that it remains proactive, thoughtful and supportive.

Athletics & Fine Arts

TCA seeks to use athletics and fine arts as an intentional and inspiring way to develop the whole child. We are blessed with excellent faculty and coaches who can challenge and develop students, allowing them to flourish in their giftedness. In these two areas of the school, students develop skills and talents that can extend beyond the classroom, build community, inspire others and prepare them for life. TCA seeks to further invest in these programs to provide a more robust experience for the students.

Goals

1. Develop strategies to remain competitive without compromising our mission.

2. Refine the athlete’s experience, making it more consistent across programs.

3. Enhance athletic facilities.

4. Enrich the performing and visual arts programs to ensure we are consistently developing students’ gifts and talents preK-12.

5. Continue to invest resources to maintain and improve our art facilities to stay competitive and promote excellence across schools.

Key Resources

To ensure the long-term viability of the school, we must maintain a thoughtful, mission-oriented approach to the use and management of our current resources. We will endow and secure Trinity Christian Academy’s future while prudently managing current resources to sustain institutional excellence. We must also embark on new development efforts to generate funds in support of the initiatives in this plan. A strong endowment will help reduce our dependence on tuition and increase Student Tuition Aid, making TCA more accessible to a wider array of talented students for generations to come.

Goals

1. Design and execute a long-term financial plan that emphasizes institutional sustainability and broad accessibility to the TCA experience.

2. Develop and finalize plans to fund the long-term campus master plan.

3. Drive demand through admission and retention practices that are inspired, proactive and widely appealing.

4. Continue to prioritize the safety and security of our students, faculty and staff.

Close-Knit Community

The sense of community at TCA is one of the defining strengths of the school. Students from many backgrounds learn together in our classrooms, perform together on our stages, compete together on our athletic fields and form lifelong bonds in the process. Years removed from commencement, alumni still stay connected and consider one another close friends. Faculty and staff keep in touch with students they taught or coached, and parents become lifelong friends with one another. These relationships deserve to be cultivated, preserved and celebrated. We will continue to strengthen and enrich the tapestry of relationships that defines the Trinity Christian Academy community.

Goals

1. Enrich the school population through broadened efforts to recruit and support students, faculty and staff from diverse backgrounds.

2. Create new and deeper connections with alumni to ensure lifelong bonds to TCA.

3. Provide thoughtful and engaging outreach and community events for students, parents, employees, alumni, alumni parents and grandparents.

4. Provide ongoing development for trustees and prioritize healthy board governance.
